Don't say bad words

Taking a little break from all the Christmas fun around here to let you all know about a Family Home Evening that was prepared completely by my granddaughter Elora, age 6.

She told her mom, Erin, one day, "Our family's been having a real problem lately. So I want to do a lesson and teach us."

I wasn't there, but Erin said Elora wrote this out and gave this lesson to her family all on her own.

Don't worry if you can't read it.
Translation below.

I've only fixed the misspelled words:

"I share my testimony with you about bad words. Activity: Draw a bad word, then X it out, then write a good word. Then draw with a speech bubble with you saying a good word with some bad words.

You should never say bad words to somebody or something or to yourself. You should say good words. God wants you to say good words. God also wants you to follow his law. It is very important to him. Heavenly Father wants us to be gentle to others.

Daddy said I acted dumb when we put on our PJs but I said you should say I acted lame when we put on our PJs. My mommy also says bad words too. "

So I just called her Mom to find out just what these bad words are.
d--b
s----d
s----p
(That would be dumb, stupid, and the very big one, shut up, but don't tell Elora I wrote them here.)

Erin says once the girls go to bed she and Brock say these all they want to get them out of their system.

On another note, we are enjoying having McKay and Tyler home, although it feels like Tyler is only partially here. He seems to be often in the other room talking or texting Karen. It's all good though.

Campbell, who is not feeling the best, with Uncle McKay.

I love it. Very good lesson for all of us. I wish I could have been there to see it. I am glad that those are the only bad words she knows-I hope. She is an awesome girl.

I am sorry Cami isn't feeling well. Give her a kiss and hug for me.

Elora and I are going to have to get together and see what we can do to help her parents use the right words. We all know that Grandpa would never say such things. ; )

After baking in a hot kitchen, reading this, it was absolutely the best part of my day!! Elora is going to rule the castle there I think, but she is so mature for 6years old and what a great lesson for everybody!!! I love the picture of McKay and Cami!!

Jack's proud moment

Jack could hardly believe his good fortune  when they put the 4 year olds in charge of the fire!
