Don't Wear Too Much Makeup

I finally saw Enchanted!

Yesterday it was 102' outside and the air quality was in the red zone.
Elora, my 5 year old granddaughter and I decided to stay inside and watch Enchanted.
After it was over I asked her if she would like to tell about it on video.
I've asked to take video of her before but she usually says no.

Well yesterday, she quickly agreed.

As you can tell by watching, she had something to say.
She starts rambling a little in the middle but bear with her because she is trying to make a point.

(If you have not seen Enchanted, this video will probably not make sense. And sorry this is a little dark, I'm still learning.)

How adorable and cute Elora is!!!!! And it's good to know that boys are only after one thing if a girl wears too much makeup :) She will laugh about this when she gets older. You absolutely put the greatest things on your blog!!!

This is hysterical. I mean, I hear stuff like this all day, but it's even funnier seeing it in video form. Thanks for posting this, mom.

You are amazing! This is SO CUTE. Thanks for sharing so cleverly. I'm glad I'm not to wear too much makeup inasmuch as with the heat, I have no desire to wear any at all!!!

We went to our ward's annual auction last night and Richard recognized Amy's kids. He said, "Hey, those are my grandchildren!"

We had a great walk in Woodward Park this morning with Richard the son and Richard the dad. So lovely, BUT TOO HOT, even at that early hour.

Love you and your blogs, Susan and Dad

She is DARLING!!! I love her mannerisms. It's amazing what kids will tell you about if they find slow you down long enough to listen to them. I came accross this poem that I love that I thought you might like Grandma Honey.

WALKING WITH GRANDMA

I like to walk with Grandma,
Her steps are short like mine.
She doesn't say "now hurry up"
She always takes her time.
I like to walk with Grandma,
She sees things like I do-
A bright flower, a sleeping cat,
A hidden ladybug too.
Most people have to hurry,
They do not stop and see-
I'm glad that my Grandma is
Unrushed and young like me.

I thought that poem was soooo sweet and way to true. I need to slow down and spend more time listening. I know childhood won't last so i need to soak it up while I still have young, bubbly, talkative ones. Thanks for the video. It help me rededicate myself to enjoying my children.

I love that poem Krista. I think it is so true that grandmas simply have more time to listen. We also have time to THINK. I had so little thinking time when my boys were all small. We were just going from one thing to the next. That's the way it had to be...there were just things constantly happening. Den and I spend so much time going over and over what our grandkids say and do because they go home and then we sit back and bask in the joy of it all. There is a time and season for it all and right now we absolutely love being grandparents. I will have fun passing that poem on. Thank you again for sharing!

Isn't it funny what little ones pick up on from a movie? That isn't a part I would think of off the top of my head!

So, my question is this, Does she know what that one thing is? She sure sounds like she knows a lot!

No she doesn't. That is what was so endearing about that video. She just did not know, but she wanted to make sure we did not wear too much makeup just in case it was something bad.

Look what happened last night

Just a little pre-graduating gathering for our DIL Amy.... Not everyday a Mom of 7 and a Grandma of 7, graduates from college. It was not ...
