Brussel Sprouts with Grapes

That's a before picture...
before I roasted these and put the walnuts and seasoning on.

A friend of mine was raving about this recipe
so I couldn't wait to try it, a few days ago.

Who knew pairing brussel sprouts with grapes would work.
Even Dennis, who has to eat a new recipe about 2-3
times before he likes it, said he loved these.

It's a keeper. Just had to share.

When there is no peace on earth....

Funerals are always hard.

But being with the parents the day after they lost their 16 year old boy to a car accident, it's heart wrenching.

Ten days later, several of us in our church were in charge of the luncheon after his funeral service.

I made a sign up sheet to feed 300, and the volunteers just kept on signing up. People were so generous!

One lady signed up to bring TEN salads! Many signed up to not only bring food, but to come and set up, or serve, or clean up. Some signed up for all of that.

A catering company donated 600 fresh baked cookies!

Tables were set up throughout the church building.

In our young women's room....

In our Primary room....

In a classroom...

But most of the people were in our main room...

I imagine his parents will always see him like this.

"Peace in Christ" as the youth in our ward sang during Thomas's service,
was about the only thing that made sense that day.

It always comes back to this...

Grant

While I was quickly making dinner last night, a little video came in from McKenna showing Grant at Activity Days. This is a program our church has for children ages 8-11.

I told McKenna I didn't have words....this just made me happy, because look how happy Grant is.

I was just writing in my journal this morning how proud I am of Grant's parents, McKay and McKenna.

I can hear and feel McKay's joy last night, in just that one sentence I hear him say while filming this.

McKay being a little over the top

I laugh when I hear my voice. I would not react the same with my grandkids.
I guess that's what age does to a Mom.

Not sure what year this was. 1998?

Look what happened last night

Just a little pre-graduating gathering for our DIL Amy.... Not everyday a Mom of 7 and a Grandma of 7, graduates from college. It was not ...
