My son, Tyler, proposed to Karen last night.
They are engaged.
They are looking towards a Spring wedding.
When Karen was here last weekend, we all felt like she was already a part of our family.
It just felt right.
I admit as I watched them walk that long isle away from us at the airport Sunday afternoon...I had tears in my eyes. I thought, as most parents do in this situation...when did he grow up?
When did this happen?
When I would drop him off for school when he was very young,
after he would get a few steps away from the car...
then he would stop, turn around, and look back at me.
He did this nearly everyday.
This is the same boy who use to ask for a tuna sandwich
after I picked him up from kindergarten.
Then he would watch Lassie and Maya the Bee, while I dozed off next to him...
every afternoon.
He was a pure joy to raise, well except for that crazy year he had between ages 2 and 3,
But I would not even trade in that year, not for all the money in the world.
I expect Karen and Tyler to be very happy.
This has been my prayer all of his life.
That he would grow up and find someone as good as he is.
I would want it no other way.

My hand use to be the one he would hold. *smile*

Congradulations to Tyler and Karen! Wonderful to have a new addition to the family, and such a beautiful one! Congradulations to you all!
The real question is when did we get old enough for married children? Well, for me it was 11 years ago, yikes. They are definitely a handsome couple! Congratulatins and best wishes to both of them. Cousin Kathy
I know what you mean Kathy. It's like that song, "Sunrise, Sunset"..the line that says, "I don't remember growing older, when did they?"
I am so happy for them. She seems like a great girl. I mean how could she not with a name like Karen? Can't wait for the wedding. Where is it going to be? I hope you have a reception in Clovis so I can come.
Yay for Tyler and Karen!!!I am so excited for them! Congratulations to all!
Ohhhh, how fun! This post made me cry. They look perfect together. And how nice that you were able to meet and get to know her a bit this past week.
Hurrray!!!!! WE are soo excited around here. Elora jumped up and down when I told her Karen was going to be Aunt Karen.

Yay! Oh, congratulations to all! I'm so happy I got to see Tyler when he was home and to meet Karen. She is wonderful. They seem to be a very good match for each other.
P.S. The picture of Tyler standing in front of the curb at Red Bank is adorable. The ninja turtles backpack is my favorite part.
Very, very touching. They will last forever! What a cutie Tyler is in that picture! So many things going on in your life Jill! It's full, happy & eternal.
Ohmigoodness! This is awesome! We are thrilled! For them, for you and Dennis, and for us. The family keeps growing and growing. Actually, this will be the first wedding since Whitney since I've been on the scene. (I actually wasn't IN the family at her wedding, but I WILL BE at this one!) We're very happy. Love, Dad and Susan
What a great post!! I'm pretty excited myself, and I feel very lucky to have such a fantastic guy!
I didn't know that Tyler likes tuna. I wonder if he still does.
Thanks, Jill!
Tyler probably still likes tuna, I'm not sure. But when he was little he wanted it every single day. We didn't know then about all the mercury in tuna. I would have just given it to him once or twice a week if I had known.
Glad you liked my post!
I object! That year between ages 2-3 is probably the year he and McKay destroyed my room, leaving it a complete disaster. That year I would definitely trade in for one where he did not obliterate my personal belongings. I still haven't received any sort of retribution either. And if I recall, mom passively condoned their behavior.

YEA!! I'm so happy for you! I just found out and couldn't be more thrilled. I knew when I met Karen that she'd be my sis-in-law! I had no doubt. ;) Her and Tyler are so cute and so good together. It was fun to see how happy Tyler was with Karen. I'm teary-eyes - I'm very happy for you both!!
