Happy Birthday Erin

8 1/2 years ago this shining star came into our family.
Yes, Erin shares the same birthday as McKay!The first time I met her, she and Brock were not actually dating...but I remember thinking that she was someone special. Not just your everyday ordinary girl. No way. I came to learn that I was even more right than I thought I was.

Being the mother of all sons it did cross my mind more than once that I would be the second mom...the second grandma. Erin has made sure that has not happened. She includes me in all the important days, the special times. She fit right in with all our boys. She has a very quick wit and often has us all laughing.
She loves to play games and has been known to play late into the night just as my sons do. Erin is a such a good mother! There are no words to express how happy that makes me.

Can you imagine anyone looking this beautiful on the way home from the hospital?
She is forever full of good ideas. She offered to be the "assistant wedding coordinator" for Tyler and Karen's upcoming wedding. I jumped right on that, "Sure!!"
Erin is very compassionate and is always ready and willing to help when someone is sick or just feeling down. She treats them like royalty.
A birthday a few years back.
Erin and Brock went away for the weekend to celebrate, and we had Elora with us overnight. We picked her up from her Grandma Lynn's and several miles from her house Elora gasps,
"Oh no, I left the card I made for Mommy's birthday at Grandma Lynn's!"
She asked if we could take her back but we said she could get it tomorrow. Then she says,
"Oh well, I'll just save that one for next year."
Before she slept snuggly in her bed, she asked that I put some paper and pens out for her so she could make her mom another card as soon as she woke up. Sure enough, about 6:30 this morning we could hear the pens moving, and snap, click went the plastic box of crayons.
Shhh, don't spoil Erin's surprise but here is the inside of the card:Complete with a picture of her family
Happy Birthday Erin!!!
We love you very much and we are SO THANKFUL you are in our family!!!

Elora insists this is her Mom's favorite song.
She says her Mom sings it to her in bed at night.
Enjoy it Erin! :)
