Too embarrassed to tell anyone this...

but guess where I went tonight? To see Kate Gosselin from Jon and Kate Plus 8. She was at Borders bookstore in Riverpark.

Sure enough very long lines. Den guesses atleast 500 people all curved double around the building outside. I wanted to see her, but not that bad.

So, instead, we went inside and asked where she would be sitting once she arrived. They pointed us towards the cafe in the back. Very few people were actually inside the store, so Den and I found a comfortable little table and read books for about 15 minutes while waiting.

Sure enough she made her entrance where we could easily see her. I took a few shots from my camera and then I was ready to go home. I looked at her new book, "Eight Little Faces" but there was not much to it, so I didn't even purchase it.

If you click this perhaps you can see how her hair goes flat right in the back where it usually sticks out. She had probably just woke up from a nap.
I felt almost guilty doing this tonight. I have so many things to do...I am tired and busy...but sometimes I just need to do something a little crazy, and this was it for me.

And my dear husband, well, he's such a good sport!

Oh, and many of those poor people are probably still waiting in that line. Too bad they didn't just go in the front door like we did.

Good for you! I think doing things a little crazy every now and then keeps us all young!

Well I did tell you Erin...Brock asked me tonight when he picked up the girls what I was doing later but I told him I was too embarrassed to say. Now he knows :)

How fun, and aren't you the smart one. Amanda and I watch that show all the time.

I have no idea who this person is. (Maybe because we don't have a TV?) Can someone fill me in?

Don't be embarrassed! I did something similar once. Beaver Cleaver was in town and a friend and I went and saw him. It was cool.

Good for you! Being unpredictable keeps Dennis on his toes! And, it makes the rest of us admire your get up and gumption! Love, Dad and Susan

Darlene, Kate and her husband are the parents of twins and sextuplets. They have a reality show filming their "everyday life". I did a little review on them last Oct. 27th but for some reason the link mechanism on this blog will not work today.

I wouldn't be embarrassed. One time my sister and I thought we saw Steve Young in the San Fransisco airport. So we followed him and sure enough, it ended up being him...

I thought about calling you yesterday to see if you would like to go with me, but I decided I didn't want to deal with the crowds. I am glad you were able to see her!

Oh Kresta, if I knew you wanted to go I would have called you! The way we did it we didn't deal with the crowds at all. It was so strange how all those people were in line outside...while we were inside watching everything up close. If I had wanted my book signed (which I didn't even buy) then I would have to be in that line, but I just wanted to see her. And we did, just a few feet away. It was fun. Den could care less, but he had fun too.

OH and another thing I thought was interesting...Kate walked in like she was entering a classroom to take a test. No smiles, no eye contact with anyone, nothing. Very business like. Just sat down and started signing books. Then as people handed her their book she would engage briefly, then on to the next one. Must get old doing this night after night, city after city.

One of my sis-in-laws is expecting her 5th baby. Her oldest is 5yrs old...younger then my Kayla. She went to the book signing and told Kate her news of expecting her 5th...and how close in age they are. Kate told her she was crazy. My sis-in-law thought that was pretty funny coming from her. I've never seen the show but she has several fans.

PS: This is Lisa B. I'm on my mom's pc. When I read posts like this it just makes the point that you are very, very unique. Obviously, you're not that crazy. 500 people in Fresno "waiting" in line? WOW!

It's this side of you that gives me great pleasure in reading your blog! : )
