Highlights of our weekend

This display at Trader Joes just made me happy

And who should we run into just as we were leaving?
Once again, my brother Scott and his wife Kim!

Our granddaughter Jessica sent us this picture from her phone.
She was in NYC!

Den and I sat through this movie on Furlough Friday.
I know it is getting good reviews, but to us, the acting was flat, the story line flat.
We also did not like the subtle implications of the shallow role of being a wife and mother.
But it is very clean, and many love it, so don't listen to us.

Elora turned EIGHT!

Farmers Market! Love it.

Went to Penneys to buy 2 birthday gifts.
I always think of Vice President Spiro Agnew when I shop at this one.
Back in 1973, I learned of his resignation while working the evening shift.

Elora was baptized by her Dad

Cami, Elora and my niece Carly's little girls, Rivka and Hosanna.

My Dad with his great granddaughter right after the baptism.
(Susan was in Chico for her grandchild's baptism the same day!)

And then the grand finale for me....Sunday dinner with some of the cousins at Grandma Honeys.

At the end of this clip, you will see that Grandpa Dennis has had enough.
He is telling everyone the party is over...he didn't know Brock was filming!

It's always fun until someone gets hurt :-) I am always the one that has to say, "okay, thanks for coming, the party is over" :-)) You did have a very nice weekend. Pass along to Logan that I love his beard! And congratulations to Elora on her baptism!! Thanks for sharing your weekend!

Congratulations to Elora on her baptism! Looks like you had a fantastic weekend! Poor Tea, that is exactly how Hannah would have reacted to a ball in the face, too! :-)

Your camera takes really good pictures.

Have you seen "It Happened One Night"? I can't believe I'm saying this, but you really ought to watch that. It was made back in the 1930s. We watched it recently with McKay and McKenna and thought it was hilarious.

What did you have for Sunday dinner?

Darlene~ I was hoping someone would ask that, only because I enjoy discussing food. We had what I call Tortilla Wraps. I just put warm tortillas out and these fixings:
refried beans that I make up in the crockpot
Mexican rice
guacamole
tomatoes
olives
onions
corn
cheese
sour cream
tomatoes
salsa
shredded lettuce
hamb with taco seasoning

And then everyone just makes their own. We also had grapes and cookies. But I should have brought out the cookies BEFORE the kids left the table...because I spent lots of time today vacuuming crumbs.

Tyler~ Do you have this movie? If so, bring it when you come next month for Thanksgiving, and we will all watch it together!

Heather~ I am so impressed that you know Téa's name!

What a handsome picture of Elora's great-grandpa!

Yes the kids are all cute. Yes it was a momentous occassion with the baptism, but let's get things straight---That is one good-looking, well-dressed 80 year old!!!!! Love, Susan

Congratulations to Elora on both her Birthday and her Baptism! And I really got a kick out of Dennis saying 'Thanks for coming' to everyone! He sounds like Raymond (and what I feel like saying on some weekends too!). We always seem to have a house-full!

I've been reading back here on what I've missed, and I agree with you about the sleep-overs. It seems that most of them were at our house though, which I much preferred! But when the kids got into their teen years, that's when the trouble started for us, it wasn't sleep-overs but the influence of their peers really was so strong. And I'm sorry to say that Ray and I were not as vigilant as we should have been.

I enjoyed seeing McKay and McKenna's apartment, it's really nice, such a cute little nest! And great that they have such a big kitchen in a studio!

Thanks also for sharing Kim's recipe for the veggie burger, I'm going to copy it. It looks and sounds delicious!

And I had to laugh when Elora told you that the tub wasn't clean! I am the same way! I think everything looks clean until I put my glasses on!
Elora really is so sweet, and so insightful!

I enjoyed all these posts so much!
And again, "JOY TO ALL!" about the new expected addition to your beautiful family!
I know that wonderful excited feeling of anticipation! My cup runneth over for you! Enjoy!
All the best,
Eileen
PS ~ I'll be away for a few weeks, so I'll catch up with you at the end of October.

Jack's proud moment

Jack could hardly believe his good fortune  when they put the 4 year olds in charge of the fire!
