Tyler's Kindergarten Teacher Yesterday!

I was picking Elora up from school yesterday when I saw this woman who looked like Tyler's kindergarten teacher. But no, this woman looked TOO much like Tyler's teacher to be her.
It's been 19 years, she should have changed more than this.

Here is Mrs. Bimat back in 1991 with Tyler, my youngest son.

So of course this put me on the hunt for his kindergarten memories.
 Look what I found

With Cindy and Katie, who both lived on our block at the time.
A few months ago when I was outside emptying the garbage,
I saw Cindy and her Mom driving by their old house.
Turns out Cindy is married now and expecting her first baby.

I found also something Tyler said to his teacher 19 years ago, and she wrote it down:

This makes me feel incredibly guilty now.
We did get Tyler glasses but it was not till years later.
I had no idea he needed them back then.

Tyler's self portrait.
He was sure a colorful little boy.

Some interesting facts (at least to me):
1.  Tyler lost more teeth in kindergarten than anyone in his class.
2. He was in the very first kindergarten class of Redbank Elementary school.
3. Out of the 4 kindergartens at his school, Tyler was the only one that year who had perfect attendance.
4.  Three of Tyler's elementary teachers married the school janitor.  Not the same janitor.

And this is how I remember Tyler in 1991.
He looked so little in that big school.
Every day he would get out of the car, walk a ways, then stop and turn around and look at me one last time, then continue on.
It ripped at my heart every time.

So glad he found Karen and they lived happily ever after.

What a darling couple they make!

PS. Thanks for your comment about our little hero on my blog today. It made me tear up (and somehow, cheer up, too!).

Oh this was so fun! I loved seeing all the old pictures, and it is funny, but the lunch box/clothes/shoes/backpack seem the same as my kids that age. Funny how things are the same in different places.

How beautiful. I love remembering my kids' early school years. Someday I'll have to do a post on their early pictures and other things from their scrapbooks. You've inspired me!

This is so cute. I love going down memory lane. Tyler was a cute little boy.

The reason his teacher looks so good is because she isn't teaching any more. That will do it every time.

I want to know if we are going to get a reenactment of Tyler Rabbit and Tyler Pilgrim.

Jill! I love this post! Tyler sure is a cutie, isn't he? He definitely is my favorite.

Thanks for sharing all of these memories. Some of them (yellow clothes and brown shoes) really make me giggle.

I love it all!!

Apparently everyday of kindergarten was a new experiment with clothing.

And you know, I'm really impressed that I was older me way back when I was younger me. "Yellow clothes and brown shoes" is totally something I would say today, because that is the most awesome clothing to wear.

Thanks for the post, Mom! I miss Red Bank. BYU is so complicated compared to Red Bank.

It really doesn't seem like that long ago to me. I remember each one of my girls in kindergarten. Their teacher never changed either, so where did all that time go?

So I did some research and found that Mrs. Bimat has had extensive plastic surgery: eyebrow lift, lip injections, cheek implants, full budy liposuction, breast augmentation, tummy tuck, hair plugs, and a full face lift with a rhinoplasty. Clovis is a small town.

Oh, Jill, I've missed so much here, but I think I'm all caught up now! I loved this post and seeing the pictures of when Tyler was in Kindergarten, and also the beautiful newlyweds!
Let me see if I remember your other posts now:
The Duggars ~ I love them!
Kim & Kris ~ they are naturals! Really very impressive.
The Haiti video was so touching, and the beautiful song and the beautiful memory of your Mom that went with it was also very touching.

I cried when I saw the pictures of Tyler with the burn and I cried harder at Molly Jackson's story.

I loved seeing all your old family photos, and Jill, you look exactly the same today as when you were a little girl! And I especially loved seeing your Mom in school and hearing the stories about her.

Thank you for sharing all the recipes, and I loved the Hunt For Milk! (Jayden and Ray drink the Silk Soy). Cami was adorable!

I enjoyed the post on the twins, they are so beautiful and so healthy, and so ACTIVE! I also enjoyed seeing your movie outing with Elora!

Well, I think I covered it all, but I'm not sure. I've missed visiting here and I hope to remedy that situation!

Oh! Best of luck to Brock with the comic (very talented!), I'll try to do my part!
All the best,

This post sure pulled on my heart strings. He is such a CUTE kid and honestly, his teacher looks way better today than back in the 90's. I also love the way those two take fun, endearing shots.

You sure dressed him up awfully nice for kindergarten!

Also, I LOVE that picture of Karen and Tyler. When we were at their wedding reception in Clovis, my mom and I were looking at that photo and she turned to me and said, "You need to find someone who looks at you the way he looks at her." Made me tear up.
