Is he that old,
that swimming pools use to look like THAT?
And what's with the swim cap on his head?
Mom sure dressed him up for a birthday party!
The rest of us didn't dress that well for church.
Those 2 can't seem to get enough of each other.
This must have been the day they broke up.

Hey....those are some CUTE photos! Your brother sure knew how to pick 'em, huh? Timeless, beautiful memories.
Richard sure looked like he was having fun in the pool. I'm curious about that swimming cap too. Maybe he was just "trying it on" to see how it looked. These are really cute pictures. I know I've said it before but you truly are blessed to have all of these old pictures. Thanks for sharing.
That is hysterical. I laugh every time I think about it.

It took me years to get over Suzy Zander, probably until I met Colleen Russell in the 4th grade. As for the swimming cap, I was still developing my fashion sense. The picture on the bus was on the way to Mendota to work in the tomato and cantaloupe fields...I pulled 6, 12 hour shifts each week in the summer to help pay for our fancy clothes and John's milk allergy treatments. Had there been any left over we would have gotten him a haircut too.
So So Funny! Richard's comment seems to have given the pictures new meaning. Hilarity squared! Love, Dad and Susan
Unfortunately Suzy had a wardrobe malfunction in the pool that day. Fortunately I was so preoccupied with checking the Ph and chlorine in the pool that I didn't notice.
That's a bus? I thought it looked more like one of those trailers they haul horses in. Did they make Richard ride with the livestock on the way to Mendota?
This is just too cute. His first girlfriend was cute but I think he ended up with a better one.
Uh..chlorine Richard? I don't think there was any chlorine in that swamp of a "pool". What was that thing made of anyway? And was that our backyard or Suzy's?
Besides, my focus is on the clothes you wore to her birthday party. Did you ever see clothes like that in our house? The sweater vest, pleated pants, crisp white shirt! Even your hair was combed and slicked back.
Where's Natalie? I'm sure she has something to say.

That was Suzy's backyard. They were rich. They had a pool.
It was good for about an hour until the canvas became saturated and all the water leaked out.
Den and I are laughing in 2 different rooms reading your comments Richard. :))
He has been waiting all day for Natalie to say something. Do you think she has seen this? I know how she likes your old pictures.
Mom must have been trying to impress the Zanders by dressing me up like that. It was Suzy's birthday. I really and truly remember the party. It is my earliest childhood memory. I had never before seen candy in dishes and I ate every M&M in site. I went home, complained of a stomach ache, and eventually threw it all up. Pure misery and the apparent end of a romance.
