Have I done any good in the world today?

I saw this video a few days ago on my friend Cynthia's blog,
and I've been thinking about it ever since.

My Mom use to sing this to herself while cleaning the house when I was growing up.

She lived these words.
It felt very right when we sang this hymn at her funeral 2 1/2 years ago.

Very nice Jill. I love this song too. Your mom really did live this song and so do her children.
I love the red bows. So cute.

Your mom was a great example of doing good. I'll never forget her thoughtfulness in sending me home with the big jar of honey on my first visit there. This song is a good reminder to each of us to do good each day. You are so much like your mom in this respect. That is one of the things that I admire about you. My heart and prayers go out to all of the people in Haiti and to the relief workers who are doing so much. Thanks for sharing this video. I love your new background!

PS. I really like the new background.

Dear Jill,

We just sang the same hymn at my mother's funeral last Saturday. Mama had Alzheimer's for about ten years. My brother told me that she had been reciting the words to it the past few months, so it was perfect for the closing hymn. Gaynor and Mama were alike in that way--always helping others.

Love,
Sonja
