I love October 11th for 2 reasons.

When McKenna told me that Baby Jack would be born on October 11th, I was happy because that was already a very special day to Den and I.

We "met" online on Oct 11th, 21 years ago.

I had no clue how much both our lives, and the lives of our children, would all change because of one email:

Den kept all of our letters, starting with that first one, and then putting each subsequent letter on top of the previous one.

I can hardly believe tomorrow we will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. He still feels like my new husband!

Baby Jack came home Sunday morning,
just 2 days old.

This post has so many parts that I hardly know where to begin. Happy 20th and happy "finding each other" day. I would like to know what attracted you to Dennis to send that first letter and what made you decide to reply? Great decision, by the way.

I am truly amazed and in awe of McKenna!! C-section, home two days later, looking incredible.....WOW, how does she do it??

Welcome home Jack and family. Looking forward to hearing more. pjc

You want to know the real answer on why I was attracted to Den's first email? He wrote in complete sentences with no miss spelled words. It's not like I'm perfect in that way or even care all that much how I spell words (is misspelled one word?)...but most men who wrote to me could hardly put a paragraph or even a sentence together. When all you have at first is a paragraph, shouldn't one care about the impression they're making?? So I knew he was special. So much so, that I waited 3 days to reply. I didn't want to look too anxious.

You know, spelling, complete sentences, and good grammar are important to me too, so it’s a good thing Wendy led with her wardrobe and not a writing sample. Of course, all these years later, I’m glad she did!

I’m guessing my comment above barely cleared the politeness censor...

I love this post so much! I'm so grateful that you and Dennis found each other--he has certainly been a blessing in our lives.

And Baby Jack is just so adorable! He is absolutely precious, and we are so excited for McKay and McKenna!

Can you tell us what attracted Dennis to you? Something in your profile caught his attention. Please share.

He said it was my picture. But he was a little worried I wasn't ready to date yet since my husband died just 2 years earlier. I wasn't sure I was ready either. I just thought we'd write for a year or so and then maybe, meet. Maybe. He was talking about meeting me just 2 weeks later. I thought he was a bit pushy and kept putting him off. Finally he basically said goodbye, and that's when I said, "Okay, I'll meet you."

Look what happened last night
