I have a question about the Pioneer Woman

Even though woman all over Blogland quote The Pioneer Woman  and her recipes continually, I had never even looked at her blog til recently.

I did however just finish her page turning book:

Loved it. Stayed up way too late several nights in a row because I couldn't put it down. Den kept saying things like, "Are you going to join me in bed anytime soon?" And with my eyes in the book, I kept saying,  "Just a little bit more."

I have a question though.
Does Ree's husband, the Marlboro Man, always keep his face hidden?
Is he sort of like Wilson from Home Improvement?

I have not read her entire blog by any means. Just a few posts. But so far I have yet to see a full on picture of her husband. Will I ever? Or is that just the way it is? Does anyone know? I'd rather know now than to keep looking for it.

One of my favorite quotes from this book:
"...Even though I was new at marriage, I still sensed that somehow---whether because of biology or societal conditioning or religious mandate or the position of the moon---it was I who was to be the cushion between Marlboro Man and the cruel, hard world. That it was I who'd needed to dust off his shoulders everyday. And though he didn't say it, I could tell that he felt better when I was bouncing along, chubby, and carrying his child, in his feed truck next to him."

Sounds delightful! You have such interesting "reads." I thought it was a cooking blog. Am I wrong? Thanks for sharing. Love, Dad and Susan

There are many pictures of the husband with his face showing on her blog.

PW's blog is one of the best ones out there, I think. And their love story is great. (I haven't read the book; I just read the story on her blog a couple of years ago.

=)

Good to know Sue, because so far I have not seen a picture of his face :) I wonder how far back in her blog I need to go...

Susan--I always thought it was a cooking blog too. But scrolling down I don't see any recipes. They must be on there further back.

Ree's website has different sections. There's the Confessions one, a cooking section, a photography section, home and garden, homeschooling and tasty kitchen-- a place where readers can share recipes. You can see the current post in each of the sections when you go to her main page: http://thepioneerwoman.com/

yes I have seen his face. But do we actually know his NAME? I have tried several of her recipes and we love them.

Love Ree. Kim and I actually had the opportunity of meeting her. She is so genuine and warm. And very, very funny! Her husband is quite handsome. She's got a picture of him in her cookbook as well as she does post on her blog. I haven't read her new book yet but would love to! Do you know they are actually in the talking stages of a movie on this love story? Rumor has it that Reese Witherspoon would play her. :)

LOVE the quote!

And you know, my brother-in-law Steve follows her blog and he has treated us to so many of her wonderful recipes! I think he's bringing one of her desserts for Easter!
Love to you,
Eileen

Now that is interesting to see this post. Whenever you say that you or Dennis can't put a book down, I buy it! So, now I got another read thanks to you & the idea of truly dusting off her husband's shoulder amused me immensely. I've always thought that phrase was a metaphor not a real thing to do for another! Ha! I guess when you live out in the prairie you get alot of dust, eh?

You also make me laugh with your gigantic curiousity for details! LOL
