Julie's family baby shower

My niece Julie is having a baby in August!
So my sisters Robin and Peggy gave her a shower on Saturday. It was "a girl thing"....so all the daughters of the guests were invited.
Here's Julie practicing with Téa.

I had to round up all the little girls from down the hall playing. They weren't sure what to do at a baby shower.
I think we had more little girls than we did mothers.
Playing the game of 'guess what is in the baby food jar'

And below, the game of 'tear off as much toilet paper as you think will go around Julie's tummy'

I wish I had thought to take pictures of all the lovely food, but I tend to get lost in the moment at baby showers. By the time someone reminded me, there was one foot cookie left. Isn't it cute?

Julie looking beautiful and happy as ever. I sure wish she did not live so far away (Colorado!)
But thanks to her blog, I'm looking forward to LOTS of pictures!
Kylie looks like a Mom balancing the baby while doing the game.

I think Amy has had it with her life. All that getting up at night with twins and taking care of their 5 other kids has finally gotten to her.
Just kidding!!
Not sure what that picture above was about. Whatever, she recovered quickly.

Some of the guests:
Amy, Robin (sorry about your head), Erin, Suzanne (Julie's mom), Wendy and Jonas
Susan, my sister Heidi, Kylie and Téa

We missed Julie's other cousins, including Carly (shown here yesterday at the beach with her family)

I hosted another baby shower for a friend last Friday. 24 women came for lunch. I was worried about the food...I always do...will they like it?. etc. Well I noticed about 3 women at the end of the party going over to the table and wrapping up food and putting it in their purses to take home. I like people to feel comfortable in my home, to just help themselves. Made me feel good.

So what exactly did you serve at the shower that people wanted to take some home?? Must have been good!

I'm suddenly hungry for cake.... :)

This is Megapixel Molly...I figured I'd answer your question on your blog. What you need to do is increase the width of your post area. So it's not about having bigger pictures--it's about having more space to make them bigger. There are free templates that are wider, or you can fiddle with the html of your blog (which is kind of tricky unless you know exactly where to go) Hope that helps answer your question! :)

Thank you Lolli for the info. I'm excited that you taught me to make my pictures bigger now I just have to figure out how to get a wider template. I tried a 3 column one but that didn't work. I'm not sure what else would be wider. I will continue to play with it, and ask around.

Darlene, Let's see, I served chicken sandwiches, and lots of salads and fruit.

Good looks run in your family. Looks like a fun day to me!

I'm so glad that your shawear turned out so great! I'm sorry imissed it. The food sounds like a hit! It's such a great thing when you have such a good turn out.

I remember a friend of mine giving a shower and she said no one showed up. Now that to me is very sad.

Oh, the baby shower looks like it was lots of fun!

And the one you hosted looks like a beautiful spread! You did it up so pretty! And what a compliment to the hostess, putting food into purses to take home! I love it!

You have so much going on in your family, new babies, weddings, good-byes and welcome homes, I think it's all so wonderful!
Thanks for posting the pictures! Thanks for sharing your family and your life, I so enjoy it!

PS ~ I wanted to run into some of those pictures and pick up the baby's head and hold it upright! I guess she couldn't have been too uncomfortable though as she was sound asleep in those pictures!

And you look very happy and most comfortable in the picture holding your sweet little grandgirl!

That looked like such fun. I wish I lived closer so I could be involved in more of these things.

Taking food home from a shower? That sounds like something out of a Seinfeld episode.

Jack's proud moment

Jack could hardly believe his good fortune  when they put the 4 year olds in charge of the fire!
