My 6 year old granddaughter came over today to "take care" of me. She really was lots of help, and entertainment.
Here's one of our conversations.
The big bold print is Elora:
"Grandma Honey have you been watching TV lately?"
Uh no, not really
"Oh, then you probably don't know about this...
They are looking for people to donate a kidney." Really?!
"Yes!
There are over 2,000 people a year who need a kidney.
If you donate one, you get some ice cream for free!
From Baskin and Robbins!" Do you suppose she got that commercial confused with the one about donating blood??

Out of the mouths of babes! It just doesn't get any better than that. Thank you for sharing, I look forward to her words of wisdom!
Jill, I busted out laughing OUT LOUD! She is too cute!
And she's just a font of information! Oh, Jill, you must have so much fun and so many precious stories to cherish with this one!
Thanks for sharing this, I loved it!
All the best,
Eileen
ROTFL! We got such a kick out of this. Dad and Susan
Haaaaaaaaaa! That is so cute. I think I would need a lot more than ice cream to give up a kidney. But you got to love the innocence and simplicticness(?) of a child.
That is my sweet Elora!! We watched a special on the news a few weeks ago about how people need kidneys and how you can donate them, however I am confident the ice cream is from the pint for pint commericals that have been on lately... I would love to spend a day in her little head!

I just had a weird thought. This post reminds me of "Let's all go to the lobby."
Elora is so entertaining! I imagine she is good to keep your mind off of your physical ailments!
Karen...I must be a little slow...what does, "Let's all go to the lobby." mean? Is it a line from a movie?
Jill, I am surprised. You are older than me! LOL It was that song that was played at the drive in movie before the show started. Let's all go to the lobby, let's all go to the lobby , let's all go to the lobby and get ourselves a treat. Just a little play on words. Let's all donate a kidney/ let's all go to the lobby. I hope this explains it okay. You can see this song on youtube.
Erin - I love Elora's dress! It is so cute!!
Thanks for your comment on my blog.
Also, grandchildren are so darn fun. Also, thank you for sharing about the book, and also about the folding clothes thing. Very informative.
