Carly gave birth at home today

Den and I were in bed still just before 8am this morning when the phone rang. It was my sister Peggy saying Carly had just given birth. At home. Their 4th child.

I couldn't get dressed and over there fast enough.

He's 9lbs, 11 oz and 22 1/2 inches long!!

Their first baby to be born in California with family near by.
Good thing they had just moved in to their apartment in time. She gave birth to Rivka, Hosanna, and Zion in Texas.

Go here to see more pictures on Carly and Enoch's blog. I was waiting for them to post first before I posted mine. And they have.

Take a look. Just 3 hours after his birth.

Carly is truly a PIONEER woman!!! My goodness, just three hours after giving birth and she's up as if nothing happened. Did she not get the shakes and need those hot blankets???? That's one of the best parts of giving birth! Well, congratulations to Carly, Enoch and family. Thanks for sharing!

How exciting!! Carly just amazes me. She looks and sounds great just three hours after giving birth. I can't believe how fast her labor was. I am so happy for them and can't wait to meet to see the baby and find out his name. And I also agree with Susan, you are quit the reporter. You do an awesome job. Congrats Carly and Enoch!!

What a fun video to see! And you did a great job interviewing, too.

The baby is adorable. Be sure and let us know when they pick a name, okay?

The baby looks grown up already! I can't imagine giving birth to such a big good looking baby like that! Beautiful family. Congrats to all!

Way to go Carly. My step daughter has had 2 children at home and she says it is the best thing.

I just have one question. Why is Carly sitting up and smiling? I had one baby by c-section and I was "gone" for a week or so.

I couldn't vote on Enochs blog. Put me in for Isaiah (first choice) or Ezekial if I'm limited to those on the list.

PS Congrats to all! Great reporting Jill. Why don't you come to Utah with Dennis this week and chronicle our manly visit together in front of the football game on TV?
How did they weigh the baby?

Dennis said...

C'mon Richard...they ran the kid over to Save-Mart and used the produce scale. That's a man's way to take care of it.

First of all Peggy looks too young to be a grandma and her daughter Carly looks too young to have four kids! Good genes I guess, l.o.l.
Congratulations to your growing family. A home birth, that's awesome!

Don't laugh, Dennis! I used the scale at the post office all the time to weigh my babies. Small town businesses can be so accomodating! For one of my home births we were not able to weigh the baby till we could get him to the post office a week later. His birth weight for the record was a guess.

Which one was that Darlene? And what did you guess his weight to be? I take it you did not have a midwife present for that birth?

Jack's proud moment

Jack could hardly believe his good fortune  when they put the 4 year olds in charge of the fire!
