Day One of our Montana family...

Grant, Annie, Scarlett, and Jack

All the way from Montana
with their parents, of course.

Shortly after they arrived we were all just finishing dinner
when Grant kept saying, "Carrot Cake."

Over and over, in a pleading voice.

I kept thinking, oh no, his other grandma probably makes Carrot
Cake and he doesn't know why I'm not serving him any.

McKenna said no, I don't think Grant has ever even had Carrot Cake!

But then McKenna happened to go look at what Grant was drawing
and she realized, no, he was not asking for Carrot Cake. He was
wanting us to see that he drew a picture of Carrot Cake.

We're guessing maybe he heard someone
on the plane talking about carrot cake?

He communicates through his drawings.

Then McKenna looked further and saw he drew what looks like an
Asian woman, there on the right.
Maybe Grant saw his first Asian also on the plane?

And maybe she was talking about carrot cake.

Always love Grant's hair styles!

After dinner the girls went outside with their dad
to find bugs in the dark.

Must be a Montana thing.
I don't ever look for bugs after dinner.

They came in with their treasures.

Thankfully they left the frog out there...

although McKay was encouraging the girls to pick it up while I was
saying, "No, McKay, my Mom always said not to touch frogs!"

Then Annie brought out the career people from the bathroom

so Jack could play with them.

He recognized the police man, the fireman, and a few others.
When he came to the mechanic,

he said,
"He steals wheels off cars."

Uh, not exactly right.
Good try Jacko!

Later that evening while the kids were getting ready for bed,
McKay came in the FR to talk to me...

"Mom, don't you just love McKenna?
Me: "Oh my gosh. Yes I so love her!"
"Mom, she makes my life so good. I'm very happy."

What a perfect way to end a very special day
that really had nothing bad in it, except the frog.

And McKay and McKenna are both way too kind
to say much about my frog beliefs.

Back to McKay talking about his happiness...

Thanks to my sister Robin for suggesting it,
my boys grew up with this list in their bathroom.

When we moved 7 years ago, the list came with us.

I love this! I’m learning things about our visit. :) We loved getting to spend time with you. On the way home Jack told us he wasn’t ready to fly home and that he would just live with Grandma Honey from now on. Thanks for being so good to us!

Look what happened last night
