Making Money for being cute

What is it about twins that attracts total strangers?

My daughter in law, Amy, took me to Olive Garden for lunch today. This older woman came up to the babies and acted totally smitten. She even said to them, "Oh I love you." Her granddaughter who was with her was trying to move her along. Wasn't working. She said her name was Patrina and told us what area of town she lived in. Oh, and she gave us her last name. I think she even wanted to give her address but her granddaughter said they had to go. I wish I did have her address. I would love to send her pictures of my grandchildren, if it meant that much to her.

What a sweet lady! I wanted to take her home with me.

She gave the babies each a dollar.
She told Amy to put it in their Piggy Bank and tell them someday that it's from Patrina.

This used to happen to Elora everywhere we went, it was always some nice older person and it was always a dollar.

Seems like you guys could have something going here. This story brought a smile to my face. I love people like her. So nice to see. How did you put that caption thing in? That is so cute. Tell Tea she is worth more than a dollar.

Erin...I do remember Elora getting money when we were out together! If not money, they would give her candy. She would just smile and take it. :)

Sweet post! Sweet Patrina! Sweet babies!
I noticed that a lot when Jayden was an infant and I used to bring him with me each day on my visits to my Mom in the nursing home, not only would she light up when she saw him (and she was far gone with her Alzheimer's at the time), but all the patients brightened and smiled and seemed to come to life a little more. And even the Nurses and the Aides, and the Maintenance men, they would all 'ooh' and 'aah' over the baby. He just seemed to be a breath of fresh air to the place.
I know when I see babies they touch my heart in a special way. I always feel happier after visiting here when you've posted pictures of them.
This is a very uplifting post for me. Thanks, Jill.
All the best,
Eileen

Cute babies and cute pictures!! That one of Téa with the caption is adorable!!!!! Ethan and Savannah got fifty cents each a couple of months ago from an elderly gentleman that stopped to talk with them when we were grocery shopping. His children and grandchildren children live out of state so he really enjoyed visiting with us. Thanks for sharing this story!

That is so sweet! What a cute story.
I'm glad that you guys got pictures of this; it will be such a good story to tell Jonas and Tea later in life.
It is hard not to love babies, though. They are just so precious!

My hat tips off to you dear Jilly! You laid out this post so wonderfully. I'm still giggling and if you could...I know you would have taken Patrina home! I think you are the BEST!

That's hilarious! Mom, did people ever give me money when I was little? If so, where is that fund?

I started my own blog. I have no idea what I'm going to end up posting on it--if anything--but you're welcome to check it out. It may be a short-lived thing, but here's the address: http://theasley.wordpress.com/

Jill, I laughed so much at Tyler's comment!

I just came back because you asked about the food posts, I wanted to let you know there are two food posts I think you missed. One was under the 'romantic or responsible' post, and the other I did last night, it will be under the post today of 'Susie's paradise'. I've been posting them late at night after all the eating is done!

Glad I came back here, it was nice to see these pictures again and read the story again!
All the best,
Eileen

Sorry Tyler, no money. I think only the girl babies or twins get paid by strangers. It wasn't because you weren't cute enough though, you were. The neighbor lady when you were a baby however said you "were so cute you made her crazy."

How DARLING! The elderly lady AND the twins!

That used to happen when I was little. My mom said strangers were giving her money all the time - because I was so cute. She put it in my piggy bank. How funny!
