Amy update

It is nearly 2am so I doubt anyone is awake but us. Dennis and I got home a few hours ago from the hospital but Amy and Logan are still there. Logan just called...he knew I would not be able to sleep till I heard from them. A very detailed hour and 15 min ultrasound was done on the twins. They have not been told anything about that yet, but Logan could see the hearts beating and the babies moving. One had a heart rate of 144, and the other a rate of 153.

A nurse practitioner is suppose to come in and talk to them about the results of the ultrasound in about an hour or so. Meanwhile, they do not know why she is bleeding. Apparently it came on very suddenly.

Logan did say that they learned the sexes of the babies tonight. He was given strict orders by Amy not to tell me because she wants to tell me herself in person. So I guess I'll have to wait until after church for that. She already told me a few days ago that she would let me get that on camera.

So I feel relieved the babies are appearing to Logan to be okay. They would only let him in for this detailed ultrasound if he agreed not to ask any questions, so he said he sat there very quietly. He did say he saw the "15.0 weeks" as measurement for the babies, so that is a good sign being that is the exact age they are now.

Okay, so I will try to sleep a little until his next phone call comes in.

Hopefully everything will be okay. I think this kind of thing happens from time to time. When I was pregnant with Daniel I had a little bleeding. I think it ended up being that my placenta(?) was low or something like that. It has been too long. Anyway, I will keep my fingers crossed and she will be in my prayers and fast today. I remember how I felt when this happened to me.

Our prayers are with Amy. How did Dennis like the BYU game yesterday?

Bleeding can be within the limits of "normal". I'll hold that thought for them!

I had this with 2 of my children as well, they are now 28 and 18, so let's hope it is "normal". I have been checking and checking your blog, please keep us updated as soon as you find out anything.

If my mom hadn't bled when she was pregnant with me, the doctors wouldn't have discovered a condition that was harmless to her, but caused me to come into contact with bacteria that was potentially deadly to me as I was being born. Because of the bleeding during pregnancy, they knew in advance I would be exposed to that bacteria, I was able to get a simple injection right after birth and be healthy and happy. I hope that this is just a blessing in disguise for Amy and the twins, that nothing major is wrong, but now they have more information about the babies' health than they did before.

Logan left a message at 4:30am and said they had just gotten home. We apparently slept through the phone ringing and his message, but I got it when I woke up. We just got home from church but since Logan and Amy may still be sleeping I will wait a few hours more before calling over there. Maybe Amy will be on here and fill us in.

Thank you so much for your prayers and concern. I use to call my Mom during times like this, but now I put it on my blog...because I know I can always count on my family and friends here.

Richard,
Our prayers are with Amy, too. I think she and the babies will be okay. BTW...the BYU game was nervewracking to say the least. I was very impressed the way Hall led them down the field for the final score after having thrown the pick that appeared to seal it for CSU. I don't know what's happened to the defense.

We will be checking your blog often. Many prayers. President Hinckley said: Be Prayerful. Be Humble. Everything will work out all right." That's my mantra for many situations including this one. Love, Dad and Susan

My prayers are with Amy and Logan and the babies. With my pregnancy with Nick, I had a couple of episodes of bleeding but everything turned out fine. I hope and pray for the best.

Jill, do you remember Vanessa Scott? She had twins also. When I was in the emergency room with her the doctor told her that some bleeding with twins is normal. Something about the twins are stretching out the uterus alot faster then one baby would! Another friend of mine had the same thing happen to her! I think my mom did too, with me and my twin. I will keep you guys in our prayers and hope that it is just normal!

Wait a minute, I DO remember Vanessa going through this! I had forgotten all about that. Thank you for reminding me, Rhonda!!!
And I didn't know you were a twin!
