Here's a little excerpt about that period of time from one of her scrap books:
You may need to click these to make them larger to read.
And a few more glimpses of her childhood that I just recently found:The 2 pictures below were taken on Valentine's day 1938.
Mom is the little blonde on the front row to the left.
This one taken on Temperence Avenue in Fresno in 1938 or 1939, with her brother Don.
Go here to see a video of her.

WHat a keepsake these pictures and her writings are. You are so fortunate to have these! I just love looking at old pictures and your mom was such a cute girl! Thanks for sharing!
We both enjoyed this Jill. You're an awesome biographer. Love, Dad and Susan
Your Mom was a wonderful and sweet person to me. It's too bad I only knew her for such a short time before her passing. You have many of her same qualities...except for the love of chocolate.

Those pictures are priceless! Most I had never seen before. In the one with Don, mom looks like Lauren Shepard.
I agree Richard, she does look like Lauren. And somewhat like Peggy. But other than that, she had her own look. The Rozier genes must have been stronger.
Don't worry, Dennis, I think Gaynor handed on her love of chocolate to me, way back when I was a child in her ward! This is a cool glimpse of history, Jill, thanks! And I agree that your mom looks like Peggy. I never knew your siblings as adults, but your mom looks just like I remember your sister back in the '60s.
This is so nice. I love all the pictures. They are so cool.
This post was wonderful, as was the one you wrote a year ago. The video too was so touching. Both posts such beautiful tributes to your Mom. It's easy to see from reading what you wrote how much she was loved, and from reading that it's easy to see how much she loved her family too.
Such interesting times our parents lived through, but such hard times too, and they are a generation of such strength of character, it's humbling.
I love reading about your family history, I loved reading about your Mom and your deep, abiding love and appreciation for her.
Beautiful.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen
My husband and I watched the video, so touched by the pictures of a woman we never met. I think mostly because what we saw unfolding in the video is what we hope to have one day. She truly left a legacy to be proud of. A woman who dedicated her life to her family and spent her days surrounded by their love. Your love for her is obvious, and is perhaps the best tribute of all.
She was lovely. Thank you for sharing these memories with us.
I may be way off base, but when I saw the first picture, what came to mind was how much the twinkle in her eyes and the smile remind me of Elora!
Correction: I meant the second and third pictures of the little girl in the group. (I forgot about the top photo when I wrote the preceding comment)
I missed this post and just scrolled down to catch up. I'm so glad I did. I really enjoyed reading your mom's account of the times. She was such a cutie. She does remind me of Peggy.
