The stress of being loved

It happens every time McKay and Tyler come to town.
Now it is happening with McKay, Tyler and Karen.

Their brothers and their wives and kids, all want to spend as much time as possible with them.

This leads to conflict. And stress.

So McKay decided tonight to just make a plan. So he called his brothers and then started filling in activities.

At first it was not going so well
Even Tyler and Karen were feeling the stress.

Then finally it all fell into place and we all clapped and cheered!

This use to bother me. I felt I had to beg just to spend some time with them while they are here. Well not exactly beg, but I did have to make appts with them.

Then I came to the conclusion that it's a good thing my 4 sons and their wives are close and like one another so much.

I have to remember that I use to pray when they were growing up that they would be close as adults.

Not only do they love their brothers, but they like them, too. And so do their wives and kids. This is a good thing. A very good thing.

***Den gave me a new camera for Christmas. I love it but I don't understand it very well yet. As you can tell from above I'm having trouble with the lighting and settings. I do like the way this picture of Karen and Téa turned out though.

Erin, would you come over and teach me how to use my camera? Please?

So that everyone knows, this is a dramatization of what really happened. We had actors and actresses come in and play the parts. As you can see from the pictures, they did really well.

Good try Tyler, but this was real life.

I see they are free Tuesday from 9am to 5pm. That should be just enough time for me to show them the 8 hour slide show of my life until now that I have put together. I think they'll really enjoy it.

I aways hope the same thing for my kids. With very few bumps in the road, my siblings and I are all close and know we can count on each other. It's a great blessing in my life and will hopefully be for my children as well.

What a melodrama! I felt we should "Boo" and "Hiss" and then "Cheer" at the end. Very enjoyable blog. Love the pictures and your new camera seems amazing. Dad and Susan

The last thing I want is for them to feel stressed out, so I am sorry!

It is nice to be loved. I am glad that they all get along so well. That is really great. It was good seeing you all on Christmas Eve.

How would it be to 'be in demand'? That's great that your boys and wives all love being together. You are truly blessed. I see that today you are seeing Blind Side. That's what we are seeing tomorrow. I hear it good. I loved the "dramatic" pictures!!

Amy, don't worry, they've recovered and you are all worth it! Trust me, I would much rather have this kind of stress, than for my sons not to want to spend time together.

I've been reading back and I've enjoyed all your posts!
The Christmas video made me cry, it was so beautiful!
And I loved seeing and reading about your Christmas celebrations, the pictures of your family are wonderful and I especially loved seeing the pictures of you with the twins, so sweet.
I enjoyed this post of 'scheduling time' to be with family! I know the feeling.
My children all get along with their cousins, on both sides of the family, and many times they will get together for a 'cousins night'. All my family and Ray's family get along, in fact, his sister Susie had all of us for Thanksgiving, and my family also came to my house for the get-together with Ray's side of the family, it's very crowded but lots of fun!
Of course the young ones have very different interest than us 'older' folks, so it is a rare treasure when we all are together, but I'm like you, I'm happy for any time spent together, and I'm also happy that they all get along enough that they want to be 'out and about' with each other too!

I'll be away from blogging again for a little bit so let me take this opportunity to wish you many Blessings in the New Year!
All the best to you and your family, Jill

Very funny post. Your kids are a crack up and I feel your pain in learning to use anything new that is electronics.

Good Luck! I'm sure us blog followers will appreciate all the new phots you'll post with that new camera!

Jack's proud moment

Jack could hardly believe his good fortune  when they put the 4 year olds in charge of the fire!
