This surprised even me

This doesn't add up. I get a little over 100 dollars. (Which is still significant.)

I multiplied $27.40 times 30 (days in a month) and it came to $822.00
Then I multiplied $822.00 times 12 (months in a year) and it came to: $9864.00...so just shy of 10,000.

I just didn't think $27.40 a day would add up that quickly over a year's time.
Oh wait, I didn't take into account the months that have 31 days.

So I multiplied 7 (that many months have 31 days) by 27.40, and came up with $191.80
I add that amount to the 9864.00 and came up with $10,284. 40

But then I took off another $27.40 for Feb only having 29 days this year.
And the total is: $10,028.40

So that works, because next year when Feb has 28 days again, we will have another $27.40 which will bring our grand total for 2021 to: $10,001.00

And to think I did all this math without McKay and Tyler's help.

In reviewing my stats I think I messed up for 2021...I think I should have subtracted 27.40 not added it since 2021 will have one less day, not one more. ??

Whatever, I'm done.

Oops! I misread this. 27 dollars a day! Not 27 cents a day! My bad. I HOPE I don't waste 27 dollars a day on misc. spending!

You read numbers like I do, Darlene.

Here's an easier way
365 x 27.40

I have 2 actuary sons but like I always say, "Our children come through us but not from us." (Kahlil Gibran)

That's what I did. Only I was multiplying cents not dollars. And that does come out to about $100. Ha! So I was right, but wrong. I think I'll leave math to other people. I have other strengths.
