Christmas 1983

The year was 1983.

Brock was 6, and Logan 4.

My sister Robin had brought over a sort of heavy Christmas gift for them and put it under our tree days before Christmas. They were SO excited about that gift. I remember them touching it, talking about it.

Finally Christmas came and they got to open Aunt Robin's gift.

Now before you see their reaction, keep in mind that it truly was a great present and I was very pleased with it, and I know they used it A LOT.

But sometimes kids don't appreciate the best gifts right away.

That is really funny! Paper?? Say you look like you were pregnant there. How far along?

I was not quite 7 months pregnant with McKay. He was due Feb 29th and came March 8th. Showing me pregnant really had nothing to do with that gift they were opening, but I couldn't help but put that in. :)

Hahahaha, this post is funny and priceless! I like the boys' expressions to each other. And then your comments in the background....it did not matter how many times you told them not to open the package further, they just could not help themselves. It was fun seeing you pregnant; I liked how you were holding your baby/tummy. Very protective.
This post also reminded me of a Christmas gift my brothers and I had to share. We received a tape recorder from a rather wealthy uncle and aunt. My two older brothers, mostly the oldest one, made sure I didn't get to use it. I was disappointed but I had my Barbies to console me. :) pjc

Yep, I was very protective of my babies even before they were born. But I had forgotten about that and when I saw myself touch my stomach I wondered if I was in pain. I had easy pregnancies after the nausea left...but then when I read your comment about being protective it came back to me! Always so observant, you are. :)

Richard, pull up bars? You're thinking like a Grandpa. They would have loved those!

I think the fact that I worked at a stationary store is rather important to the story. I don't remember this but I am sure there is a back story of why I had this rather large ream of paper.

Oh Robin, it was the best! I loved it. I'm quite certain they used all that paper. They were continually drawing or making things or cutting out snowflakes. And pure while paper is the best for creativity. Hey, maybe that paper had something to do with Brock growing up to be an artist. Ya never know.

Look what happened last night
