Some things are not as they appear

I use to have this plant years ago when we lived on Buckingham back in the 1980s. I thought it
was a feisty little thing because the flowers stayed in bloom all year round. Even after all the
green leaves died those tiny little purple flowers would stay bloomed and fresh.
So I didn’t dare quit watering it.
I knew so little about plants back then (and I was too busy having and raising babies)
...that I was pleased I had kept those flowers alive.

I don’t remember what brought it on, but one day….many many months after the leaves had
died, I finally noticed the little purple flowers were fake! I had no idea. I didn't have much time to
think back in the 80s apparently.  Not sure, but that purple flowered plant went in the garbage
immediately at that moment.

I was just thinking about that little plant on Buckingham as I look at all the plants I have now,
and how soon they will be moved from Filbert Avenue to Maine Avenue.

that is a great story! Fake plants are the only kind I can grow ha ha. Your plants probably love your atmosphere so much!
