Father and son 30 years apart

This video starts with Logan's 4th birthday 30 years ago,
and then fasts forward to last week when his own son turned 4.

Do you think maybe they both got the assertive gene?

In defense of Jonas, I must add that I put together all these clips from about an hour
or so at this restaurant that evening. So in other words,
I am just showing the extreme moments. He is actually a very sweet little boy.
And keep in mind, also it was his birthday,
the biggest day of the year to him...so he was way over the top excited.

I love the "yes and no" part that Logan and Jonas had going on. Yes, very assertive. Logan is such a patient dad and I loved seeing him when he was four.

Jonas, I'm with you buddy; I'd want presents right away, too. I loved how Jonas heard 'yes' when Logan clearly told him 'no'. Very cute and optomistic! I also thought it was nice that grandma supported the parents' decision. It's hard, though, isn't it to not give in. Why didn't Jonas get a spoon with his order? I so wanted to reach into the screen and hand him one. What is the name of this restaurant...it looks nice and roomy and clean. Glad you all got together to celebrate their birthdays. Thanks for the video from the past; it's great.

Love to everyone,

pjc in MI

Did Jonas get a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figure?! Boy, I guess things haven't changed in 30 years.

This video was so fun to watch. The most amazing thing is that Jill looks like she hasn't aged since the video from 1983. I think I'm going to start drinking those green smoothies.

I'm thinking Rich got the assertive gene too, then.

"He said YES"? I don't think so!
I thought that was funny!
Logan wanted "new" friends? Ha! I somehow don't think that was what he meant to say. How cute he was!

Darlene~ Right, I think not meaning to, but I lead Logan right into that about him saying he wanted new friends.....

Natalie~ I know....I was surprised too when Amy said Jonas wanted a Ninja Turtle for his birthday. As I was looking through them all their names kept coming back to me from the 80s. You know what they say....what goes around, comes around.

Pam~ The restaurant was Panera Bread. I take it you don't have those in Michigan?

Ann~ Logan has always been so good about thanking people, all of his life. Thanks for noticing that!

We do have Panera Bread; I've just never been to one. The food looked delicious. The closest is 35 minutes away and then the next city that has one is over an hour away. Because we are rural with little traffic, using minutes to give distance breaks down to about 28 miles (35 mins.) and 52 miles (more than an hour). The nearest grocery store is 10 miles; big places such as Walmart, JCPenny, Kohls, Target, Red Lobster, Lowes are at least a half hour drive away.

He has the same voice! That is so funny to hear him...if I close my eyes he sounds just like his dad. Such a sweet video. I agree with Jonas, skip the food and get to the presents!

Ahhh! I love when Logan says "not yet," and then Jonas says "he said yes."

Not quite, buddy. Too cute!

That was so much fun. For someone who is asking every second to open his present, he was actually pretty patient!

=)

I wish I could watch this so I could make a good comment. It keeps stopping. I think I have gotten as far as 15 seconds where he said he wants new friends.

I finally got to see the whole thing. It still stopped but it would start up quickly. What an exciting night.
