Watch Austin read his mission call!

We knew it was coming soon....but not sure what day, or really what week.

So last Saturday just after 4:30 Amy calls and says, "It's here!"
We took the cookies I had made out of the freezer, and Den flew off to the store to get stuff for salad,
and then off to Pizza Hut. We were going to have a party at house in less than 90 minutes

Amazing how many showed up with such little notice on a busy Saturday evening.
But we are so glad they did!

We were all very surprised about a minute after he reads his call!
Take a look and you will see what I mean. I've never heard of this happening before.

The beautiful song at the end? It's called Give It All To Him.

That was a really nice video. I am so glad you do this Jill so those of us who can't be there can "be there". I am so happy for all three of these guys. All the best to everyone.

Is that your house, Jill? Or Amy's? Looks perfect for an impromptu gathering! Congratulations, Austin!

What fun to see the excitement for all of you guys but especially to see Austin's excitement. You'll have to have him send you a picture of all three of them at the MTC map, that is if they still have that map there, so you can put it on your blog. You did a great job with the video!

I love seeing mission call openings. What a great family moment!

And you were right about Richie and Tyler eating their pizza. That was too cute--they look exactly the same!

Wish we could have been there in person!

Yes Ammy, that's Robert and Tracy! They have been close friends to Amy for years and have known Austin since he was born.

I love the way you guys make these calls a whole family (and even friends!) affair. So cool.

And the thing about his shirt was trippy.

=D

Sue, with my sons, we didn't. I didn't even think of having a party when they got their mission call. And I don't know anyone else who did back then either.

Love the excitement throughout the whole church as the gospel is carried forth on the shoulders of these young people. Such an exciting time to be alive!

Oh my....that should be a very interesting mission. When Jacki lived there she said the single wards were 2 RS groups & 1 priesthood group in the wards. Regional gatherings that she attended had like 12 sisters & 2 or 3 priesthood attendees.

How do you feel about that call after reading, "An Invisible Thread?" Thank you for that wonderful comment today. It was interesting for me to read all the take a ways you had from the book. I love you & CONGRATS on the grandson's mission call! WOO HOO!!!
