Which one is not like the other?

Logan, Utah
Provo, Utah
Fresno, California

Give up?
I will tell you.
Logan, Utah was voted safest city in the US.
Provo, Utah was voted #2.
And guess where my beloved hometown is on the list of safest cities?
Fresno is #342 out of 358 cities in this annual contest.

Unfortunately I am not surprised.

That is pretty awesome. Wonder where my town ranks. Probably about 350.

LOL! Being from Logan where the cops outnumber the citizens, of course there is no crime. One a serious note. It is a nice place to live. :)

Confession: One morning a month or so ago, I took Tyler to school, but I was so sick, I was literally throwing up on my way from the front door to the car. Because I was so sick, I forgot to make sure that the door to our apartment had actually closed all the way. I got home, and the door was unlatched. (Not swinging open, thankfully.)
Had I been anywhere other than Logan, I probably would have called the cops before going inside. But because I wasn't feeling well, and I was holding a squirmy Richie, I decided to risk it and went inside anyway.
Thankfully, there was no sign that anyone had even been near our apartment, let alone inside of it.

Also, I'm not sure how I feel about Provo being voted #2. Obviously the voters have never been to South Provo.

I should mention that I always make sure the door is shut and locked now. (So all those potential thieves out there reading your blog know that I won't be letting my guard down again.)

Glad you added that Karen. Now I feel better. :)

Yeah, I've been trying to figure out how to take Provo's #2 spot. I just don't buy it. I've felt safer in other places. Plus, there are far too many car break-ins in Provo. There's got to be a better city.

Regardless, very cool idea for a list.

Tyler in 2009 Portland made #3...!

So, is it a coincidence that these cities become safer as Tyler's crew make their exits...?

I stopped believing lists when San Francisco was named the #1 Family Friendliest City in America.

Seriously, SF the family friendliest? The very reason I don't like SF is I never even see A child there.

I agree with Karen....we lived in South Provo. I have a long story to tell but I will sum it up saying that John and I had to come out of our apartment with our hands above our heads and 15 guns pointed at us. It was the WRONG apartment. Another time in Provo (same apartment) we heard gunshots and looked out the window to see someone laying at the bottom of the fire escape. So yeah...we lived there and had those experiences but didn't have ONE like that living in Fresno!

Richard, it's no coincidence. My crew and I make a better place of everywhere we go. When we've accomplished our work, we move on.

I wonder if the list Anonymous saw was a typo and the editor meant to put FIENDLIEST. That might be more fitting.

I love Tyler's comments!
Logan really is such a calm town. But it doesn't seem like a "city" to me. Perhaps it's because it is such a safe place - it has kept a small-town feel?
It is also beautiful.

Interesting! Be safe!

I am so surprised to hear that Fresno would be ranked that low.

And I chuckled at Tyler's comments.
