Part 2...Christmas Eve 1983

Wait, there's more...
My brother made a comment about yesterday's video....about how Hailey will love seeing her Mom.
So this clip shows even more of her Mom, AKA Little Robin, (the entertainer)

It also shows more of my Mom...I can never resist her.
I'm there slumped on the couch, pregnant with McKay. Right by the newlyweds, Peggy and Jeff.
And I love seeing Grandma Slinkard, even if it is a side shot. She died just 3 months later.

Some day we will all be gone, and our great great grandchildren
will be watching these videos trying to figure out what we were like.
And even though this was 29 years ago,
I sort of feel like I could just go to that Fairmont house this Christmas Eve
and everyone would look just like that.....
because really, it does not seem long ago at all. I think this is how old people talk, right?

Wow! Really great! And what good sports all the Hawkins were to sit through all of that. I enjoyed hearing Wendy's voice singing carols. I tell her every Sunday at church she could sing with the Tabernacle Choir. ..

That was wonderful. I hope you think Robin brought someone with talent to the family. (David)
Who was that playing the piano the second time?

I love watching these so much! I love hearing the adults talk and make jokes and the kids being in the spotlight, it is all just wonderful.

I also love imagining my mom buying that santa suit to stuff Lindsay's chubby body into. I think she's the cutest baby Jesus/Santa I've ever seen.

Who are the people at the piano? Nice to have accompaniment!

Darlene~ That is my sister in law Suzanne and her brother Matt at the piano. Wish we could sing like your family! As I was watching this I was wondering if traditionally the Lesters all sing on Christmas Eve?

Whitney~~It must be an odd feeling to watch what all these people in your family were doing before you were even born.

Karen~~ Heidi was playing the piano at one point, and then Suzanne and Matt. Or maybe it was the other way around.

I love these videos!

First of all, I had to double check the date because Robin and I look way older than four and six. A mullet can really age a gal.

Meanwhile, Suzanne looks like a supermodel.

I can't get enough of Lindsay stuffed into the Santa suit.

I'm also thankful that someone had the foresight not to tape us all playing the chimes. I LOVED those things as a kid but as an adult it sounds about as appealing as a roomful of recorder flutes.

Thanks for sharing. I love watching these old videos! Was Bill the one behind the camera?

Hey Nat~~ Bill did record that night with the chimes but I will never show that video here. I can't stand to watch it.

Julie~ Yep Bill was behind the camera. So many people in those videos are no longer with us.

What a treasure these old movies are. I'm slightly envious. We don't have a one.

Wish I had been more into the video thing back then.
