Two pictures of the day

First, while Den was waiting for his car to be fixed today
he looked down on the ground and look what he saw:

So yes, it really is so hot here you can fry an egg on the street!

And tonight while at Costco,
I was shocked to see this price tag:
$82.57 for a slab of beef? Less than 5 lbs.
Do you think it could be a misprint?

i hope it was a misprint...but I do know with gas prices climbing that food prices will climb too! It definitely felt hot enough to fry an egg outside. My friend in AZ put a cookie sheet of unbaked cookies on her dashboard and they cooked! we are having AZ temps and I don't like it!! that's why I moved from AZ ha ha

Well, if the "per pound" number is right...the final price is right because I did the math. It just seems like that would have to be a misprint. I certainly wouldn't pay that amount. Hopefully that egg is just an experiment and nobody will eat it :-)

OH my let's pray it is a misprint but the way everything is going sky high I would say maybe not.
Just came by to say hello and to check on you.
I am not blogging much this summer because of my chores on the North Forty have me running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Gosh not a pretty picture.
Anyway I must catch up with you while I am lucky enough to be here. lol
Love
Maggie

Glad I don't live in Clovis. ha ha That heat is awful.
I can't believe that price on the meat. It would be cheaper to grow and butcher your own cow.

Hmmmm....that resonates with my bro in law who was fuming because the feed (grain) for his livestock has quadrupled because China is buying all that stuff up! So maybe with the cost of feeding livestock the price to eat it is way more expensive. Who knows. I haven't bought meat since last year so totally out of touch.

I CRACKED UP when I saw the egg!!! Get it? Hahaha...but actually with my lousy vision I thought he found a giant diamond ring! : ) It really helps when people write what the pic's are about for me. I can't tell you how many times a description has saved me hours!

NO WAY! I know food prices are going up, but this is crazy! The 'price per pound' must have been put in wrong (I used to work in the meat department of a grocery store, and if we put the wrong price per pound into the machine as we were weighing the meat packages, everything was priced wrong! And the customers let us know it too!).
But you know, I sent Ray out for a package of chop meat and he called me and asked, "It says nine dollars for one package of meat ~ is that right??" Unfortunately it was!
Love,
Eileen
PS ~ We've been having hot spells on and off too, but not THAT hot! Yikes!

Look what happened last night

Just a little pre-graduating gathering for our DIL Amy.... Not everyday a Mom of 7 and a Grandma of 7, graduates from college. It was not ...
