A toddler project

Thanks to my niece Julie,
I found a simple no fail "craft" to do with my grandtwins.
All it takes is a strainer and some pipe cleaners
I found at the Dollar Store.

If you need more instructions, just watch Jonas and Téa
in the video below.

Then after they went home
I just pulled all the pipe cleaners out
in one big swoop of my hand,
and I will save them for another time.

haha! This is great. I am going to try this with Stockton when he comes to visit. Where did you get the strainers?

Wow! They got creative with those pipe cleaners. We haven't done that in a couple of weeks. I think I will have to pull out the pipe cleaners again tomorrow!

Those are just my regular kitchen strainers, Rebecca, that I got from Pampered Chef.

As you can tell Julie, we love your idea!

I love how they said each color name as they added them to the project! And Jonas with the wind chimes! SO CUTE!

And I love the project! No paints, no glue, no clay, no big mess to clean up after!
I wonder if a project like this would be of any interest to a seven-year-old? I'm going to try it!

Love and Prayers,
Eileen

This is a great idea! And it gives them such good 'eye hand coordination' and I love the different colored pipe cleaners!

What a great idea! My great grandkids are always saying that I don't have any toys to play with when they visit. I have a couple of boxes of dominos that I remembered the first time they said that and when I got them out, they were enchanted with them. It was something they didnt' have at home and they spend hours making all sorts of things.

I will have to get some strainers for them. The only thing is that I can't see how there are many holes that they can get the pipecleaners into except from the very top, but that didn't seem to stop them. The strainers I have don't have very big holes in the tops so I am going to have to go shopping!

No Darlene, I don't think you need to go shopping. My strainers have very small holes. At first I thought this would never work...they would have to get the pipe cleaner in just right. But that wasn't so. They barely put those pipe cleaners against the strainer, with not guiding at all, and they go right in like magic.

Great idea, and I love how they work together, too.
