Our flooring saga continues

I'm so use to Matt, the floor installer, being here that I actually washed my hair in the kitchen sink while he popped in flooring a few yards away. I don't even know his last name.

But today had a different twist to it since the twins came for 7 hours.

It was a challenge keeping them entertained with the main part of the house emptied out and the bedrooms full of furniture and misc.

So I figured collecting lemons off the tree was a good place to start.
Even while wearing pearls.

Until Téa noticed something alarming.

She had to go get Grandpa so he could see it too.
That's when Den said to me, "Don't take pictures of a dead bird!"
This is the part of nature that Den does not like.

She tried to get Jonas to come look.

But Jonas doesn't like this part of nature either.
(see him hiding in the corner?)

He backed way far away, and took his bag of lemons with him.
Téa on the other hand couldn't get enough of it.

She did try to cheer him up with a flower. All on her own.

Since that didn't work, I thought it was the perfect day for an ice cream sandwich.
Afterwards I told them not to touch anything on the way in to clean up.

After my nap with the twins, I walked into Den's office and look who I saw.
Kylie! What a fun surprise.
I asked what she was doing sitting there in his office and Den reminded me,
"It's the only empty chair in the house."
All the others are either shoved together or covered with things.
All should be back to normal by the middle of next week, is what Matt tells us.

(watching Enchanted in Grandpa's office)

It must be wonderful to go through life with a little partner by their side.
Too bad we can't all be twins.

The middle of next week?? Why so long? Does it really take an entire week to put in laminate? It seems like Damian and I did it in a couple of days at their house. But, maybe your house is MUCH bigger. Yeah, I bet that's it.

I think it's because it's a one man show. It would go twice as fast perhaps with 2 guys working together.

I think I would like being a twin, too.

I'll bet you will love it when the floor is all done. Of course you will share with pictures.

I absolutely love the picture of the twins. They are so cute. It was funny that Tea couldn't get her brother to come see the dead bird, quite touching actually. I'm not so sure I would want to see it either, but Tea was obviously fascinated with it.

You and Dennis are very brave to have the twins for hours and hours with your house upside down! Did the twins take any notice of it?

And I don't like that part of nature either! I think I would be standing far back with Jonas! But I love how intrigued Téa was with the whole thing!
And I love how they both listened to you and held their hands high above their heads until they could be cleaned! Very sweet.

And you are right, it must be wonderful to go through life with a twin!
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

I am surprised the dove did not wind up being a "present" on your doorstep.

such a cute post. I am so jealous of your lemon tree. If it were my lemon tree, I would be freezing lemons like crazy for my smoothies!!!!! Such cute pictures, love the last one. I always wished Jake were a twin. People told me I was crazy, but I still do wish that!!!

Rebecca~ That is exactly what I am in the process of doing today. I've never saved lemon juice before but ever since your wonderful recipe for colds:
1 T lemon juice
1 T honey
1 T vinegar
I want to be ready for the next time!

Heidi~ That's just what Dennis and I were saying yesterday! We are both wondering if Alex is getting too old to drag it to our front door like she use to?

Eileen~ Oh yes the twins are very interested in what is going on with the floors. But as soon as they saw Matt (a stranger to them) here working on them yesterday they got really shy. I think they were worried for a minute that he would be the one taking care of them

I have the hardest time remembering that you have a lemon tree, but it sure comes in handy to help occupy the twins! You are brave to take the twins for the day with your house upside down but they seemed like they didn't mind it. I can hardly wait to see your new floor! And you must be getting used to Matt since you can wash your hair in front of him!

What a darling post. Those twins are adorable. They are something else.
Sorry about the dead bird. I would have been over in the corner with Jonas.

I meant to add to Rebecca's recipe of lemon-honey-vinegar...that you add that to a cup of hot water. :)

It looks so nice outside there. I miss CA for that reason. I am ready for the warmth, but we won't get it for at least 3 more months.
