So you don't have a Christmas table cloth?

Worry no more, we found a solution.

Dennis practiced tonight and took some wrapping paper and just taped it to our table.

I got the idea from my daughter in law Karen's Aunt Mar's blog.

See how classy her table is. To quote Aunt Mar:
"I always wrap our kitchen table in wrapping paper along with a big bow (of course!).  I like the festive look and the ability to transform the table easily...plus it is easy clean-up after a party!  Throughout the month, if I need to change the paper or want to change it, I do...it's as easy as wrapping a gift.  :)"

Like Den said this evening, "We don't have any presents wrapped, but the table is covered!"

What a wonderful idea. I love it. At IHOP they wrap pictures and hang them on the wall.

That is a BRILLIANT idea! I love both looks of the tables. Dad and Jill, maybe you need to add a note to the table that reads, "Don't forget to fluff the bow!" You know, for sentimental sake! ;) (inside joke for any who are confused)

what a clever, simple and beautiful idea! Your table looks great! That would be fun on birthdays too...

Very clever--I've not heard of that before. It's fun to learn new things. People are so creative. I also love thinking outside the box type stuff. Love, Susan

That's a great tip! I love Karen's blog, I'll have to check out her Aunt's blog as well!

Your table turned out great! Hope you end up liking the idea.
My table is so wide that I end up doing two strips of one type/color to cover the table and then I put another coordinating paper down the middle - kind of like a wide runner. :)
Did Dennis have any frustration matching up your paper (because of the words)?
It looks beautiful and I love the paper!

(At our last party, the paper stopped a spill from reaching our table. I didn't even know anything had been spilled until much later and so I was thankful for the paper).

Mar~ What surprised me was how sturdy the paper was. I expected the spills to go right through the paper but after we fed the grandkids last night, I just wiped the paper off and it was fine! I did use the sturdy wrapping paper from Costco. This is so fun!

Kris~ Well if you, the guru of all home decor and crafting think it's BRILLIANT, then we are doing good! :)

Scrapally~ That is just what I was thinking last night...this would be great for birthdays!

Karen~ I've seen those pictures wrapped up as gifts in restaurants and I've always loved that festive look. Never thought to put it on the table though.

Susan~ I know, that's what blogs are helpful for...thinking outside the box. I wish I had kept track of how many ideas I use that originally came from a blog!

Heather~I agree, Karen has a great blog as well as her aunt!

Both tables look so beautiful! And I am definitely going to use this idea this year, thanks so much for sharing it!
Love and Prayers,
Eileen
PS ~ I think I have the same Christmas tree plates that you have in the center of your table.

I'm already picturing myself just peeling up the wrapping paper along with the smeared mashed potatoes, dabs of pumpkin pie, and random crumbs.
Great idea!

Right Steph, or peeling it off the table before Christmas to wrap a gift!

Very clever & Dennis always makes me laugh! Problem with me? I never worry. Nothing in our house is Christmasy, I'm just not worried about it, but if I were, I'd definately do that cute idea of wrapping the table. Actually I think that's a great idea for a birthday party too! Love great ideas!

Look what happened last night
