Is it possible to make a DVD from Youtube?

My sister Robin teaches early morning seminary, and loves it by the way. Occasionally she finds a special little video on Youtube that she would like to share with her class that has to do with her lesson. Maybe it is not even possible to copy a Youtube onto a dvd...but then again, maybe it is. Does anyone know??

For those of you who are not familiar with seminary...It's a class our teenagers attend from 9th through 12th grade, every morning before school. A few weeks ago she gave a lesson on not following the crowd, "just because everyone else is doing it."  She found this old Candid Camera clip that would have been perfect, but she couldn't figure out a way to show it to them...since there is no internet in our church building.

So we are hoping someone out there can either tell us how to do this, or tell us where to go for help.

Meanwhile, here is the Candid Camera clip she couldn't show them, but wanted to.
Not sure when this was made...1960?

I don't know if you could record from You Tube to a dvd, but I had such a good laugh at this video clip :-) I think I would be easily influenced in this sort of situation to 'follow the crowd' or maybe I'd just do it because it would be a little uncomfortable for me to be staring into the faces of the rest of the group. This was pretty funny!

That was good. I am pretty sure there is a way. Don't know how though. I do know that Tom makes CD recordings from stuff on YouTube. Good luck. No pun intended, but maybe there is a YouTube clip on how to do that.

I've never burned a DVD from youtube but you can download the video by using keepvid.com (you just type in the address of the video you want and it downloads it to your computer) and then you have the clip on your desktop and then you could burn the DVD from there because it is a file on your computer. Maybe I should just email Robin this possibility but I thought maybe other people want to know. I've downloaded tons of videoclips this way but I haven't burned them on a DVD but im almost positive it should work.

Thanks Whitney. I went to the site and was able to download the video. I also had to download a program to convert the MP4 to a WMV file. Then it was easy to burn to a DVD.

I posted this video to my blog a year or so ago. It's really a good one!

I didn't know you could make a DVD. Pretty cool.

Alot of people have phones too where they can get the internet (wireless of course) to get the capabilities they need too. Are you home yet?

I've downloaded from youtube, but never converted them to DVD so thank you to 'whittle sticks' for the tutorial!

This was so funny, Jill! And I guess it really is human nature to 'follow the crowd', I really don't know how I would react in a similar situation! I think I would continue facing the front of the elevator in the 'normal' fashion, but I think I would keep my eyes downcast for fear of busting out laughing at the others.
It's funny that no one asked them why they were all facing backwards!

This would be a great tool for your sister to use in her class! I think a lot of young people tend to follow without asking why.

Thanks for sharing this! My laugh of the day!
Love and Prayers,
Eileen

Problem solved! Awesome. Isn't it fun to watch these Candid Camera episodes? They are totally my kind of humor and I've done a few in real life on my own--just not caught on video. Ask me about blackened out front teeth. Your dad and I got a big kick out of this. Thanks for a big laugh! Love, Dad and Susan

Eileen~~~ I thought it odd too that the sole man not in on the joke, did not ask questions. Maybe because back then people did not talk in elevators? I nearly always talk...that's the best part of being in one of those.

Lisa~ I wonder too if an Iphone connected to a bigger screen at the church would work. While converting to a dvd from Youtube worked, the quality was not too good.

Susan~ You ought to do a blog post on your blackened teeth!

If Whitney hadn't helped I'm sure any 9th grader in the Seminary Class would have known...by the way, it's heartwarming to know Whit was paying attention when her mother taught her how to use technology.

Whitney had great advice. I've done the same and it works like a gem! I use a lot of the Mormon messages in my yw lessons and just save to the desktop. Then I bring my laptop in to share with the girls.

But Kris, how can that be....do you have internet in your building? We don't in any of ours.

I found a program you can download for free called VDownloader and it works really good....then you just use your DVD burner to burn it onto a DVD...if I did it, anyone can.

Look what happened last night

Just a little pre-graduating gathering for our DIL Amy.... Not everyday a Mom of 7 and a Grandma of 7, graduates from college. It was not ...
