I'm an 'old thing', but now I'm okay with it

Elora, while already in the bathtub with her sister Cami, announced to me how dirty my tub was.  I told her it was clean, it looked clean.  She said, "No it doesn't look clean at all and feel it (as she is rubbing her hands all over the porcelain),  it's very dirty Grandma Honey."

I gasped when I felt it too.  "Oh Elora, I am getting so old.  I thought I was seeing just fine but I guess I'm not.  I can't believe I thought this tub was clean!'

"I'm pretty confident I can get it clean."  She said to me as she rubbed the bar soap into her washcloth and then began scrubbing my tub with it.  (and I always quote her exactly..my listening skills are still in tact.)

I sighed and said,  "I guess I didn't realize how old I am getting."

Then she turned to me while scrubbing, with an empathetic look on her little face, and she said to me with all her 7 1/2 years of wisdom,
"Old things you can depend on.  They know what they're doing!"

What could she possibly know about age and wisdom, and Grandma's tender feelings?
Somehow, her statement really helped take the sting out for me.

Sharing popcorn while watching The Duggars.

Elora found time in our evening together to draw a picture of the group she sits with each day at school.
Do you notice something different about Cayden?
Elora says she does not like looking at his belly button every day.
I told her that maybe he is poor and can't afford a bigger shirt.
She said, no, he has plenty of money because he brings $5. every day for cookies.
Henry looks like he could use a bigger shirt, too.

"Out of the mouth of babes..." We love Elorisms. And her "detailed" art. Cami is so cute--How fortunate she is to have a sharing big sister. I'd say some great home-training goes on in their family. Love, Dad and Susan

P.S. If you use bubble bath, tubs don't get as dirty.

Elora is the only one in the picture with hands and feet. She is also bigger than all the boys. I think the girl has high self esteem.

Well...you are only as old as you think...or is it feel? Anyway, you aren't old and you certainly don't look old. And children are definitely honest but Elora is so loving of you and helpful and as always, very entertaining with what she says. I love all of the pictures, especially the ones where Elora is sharing the popcorn with Cami!
