This is the way I was raised

I can remember my Dad waving and smiling to people who would cut him off on the freeway.
I can remember my Mom pointing out all the good in someone who had hurt me.

When I was a little kid I couldn't figure out why the Golden Rule didn't just say,  "Do unto others as they have done unto you."  That just seemed more fair to me.  Boy, did I ever have a lot to learn!

What a lovely philosophy. Patience IS a virtue, isn't it? Your dad is still a very patient, kind and loving man. He's awesome, as are all his children. "...fall not far from the tree..." comes to mind. Love, Susan

I agree with Susan...patience is a virtue! I admire people who are patient with others and are always looking for the good in others. I'm still trying to master patience...with some days being easier than others. Thanks for sharing the video clip.

As I recall it, Dad would smile and wave at people who honked at him after HE had inadvertently cut THEM off...and now I do the same thing.
