Vintage twins 1965

Heidi and Scott

The highchairs were even old back then.
Back in the 60s, families just made do with what they had.
I think we are headed towards those times again. Hopefully.
Nowadays, that sleeper Scott is wearing would have gone in the trash.
The picture below is happier and less posed, than the pictures I showed yesterday.
L to R front: Richard, Peggy, John
L to R back: Heidi, Jill, Robin, Scott
Christopher was born in 1967.

I love this picture of Peggy. I see her granddaughter Rivy in her. Richard looks like his daughter Natalie in this picture. Robin looks like her son Davey.

Nice to see John smiling. He must have been having a better day. He always was the dark skinned one in the family. (although you can't tell it much from the way the light is on him) Dark is suppose to be dominant. Yet, 7 of us took after Mom, and only John has Dad's skin.

Our grandtwins, Jonas and Téa, will be blessed this Sunday!

I love these vintage pictures!!! And it's good to see that your brother John smiled :-) Did I tell you that in your picture (I think it was Julie's shower) where you were holding your twins and your head was at angle, Ethan looked at it and thought it was me? Anyway, you certainly have a lap full with your twins! How blessed you are!

Just a correction on my part. The picture of you was on your posting for May 24, the day of the farewell and it's the second picture of you in the brown blouse. I actually have to look twice at that myself :-)

Another beautiful post! I love all these pictures, Jill!

And the wooden high chair! You know I want that! And you are so right about 'making do' with what we had. I remember cutting the feet off of the pajamas when my older boys had grown too big for them! We were poor back then, we HAD to make do!

Really sweet pictures, Jill.
And so happy for your joyous upcoming event on Sunday! Happiness and Blessings to All!

I love these pictures Jill. They are all so cute. I still think Richard looks like a young Alan Osmond.

What delightful pictures! How refreshing to see "baby furniture" that isn't pristine. Your dad really smiles when he sees these pictures! Love, Dad and Susan

Keep the pictures coming! I can't get enough of them.

Jill, where are you finding these great pictures?! I'd like to see some at Airways with Rex and Vonda Morrison. Would you get on that one right away...

Airways, huh? Hmmm....not sure, but I'll look.
These pictures are from old negatives I've found with Mom's stuff. I've become a regular at Horns Photo lately.

I also hope the economic downturn will help us return to our senses! The consumerism all around us has really disturbed me the past several years. Even though we don't have much money and I insist on staying within a tight budget, my kids are very affected by their friends/friend's parents (even in the church) who throw money around like there's an endless supply. Then my kids are dissatisfied with what they have and totally lose the lessons I try to teach!

Oh that must be so fun for you, twins again!

I love seeing all of the likenesses in the kids. I am enjoying all of your posts with the old photos. I think that we are headed toward much simpler living, like the "Good old days" I think that is a good thing, at least something positive can come out of this economy!

Kelly, That's how I see it too...something positive about this economy, that we may start appreciating what we have again. Like in your recent post about that bunkbed for 3, your husband just made. You made the comment that someday your grandchildren may have it. That's how it use to be....passing things down to the next generation.

Oh Jill, I love all of these old photos. It takes me back, that's for sure.

Look what happened last night

Just a little pre-graduating gathering for our DIL Amy.... Not everyday a Mom of 7 and a Grandma of 7, graduates from college. It was not ...
