My favorite cleaner

I started making this a few months ago and love it.
Not only is it better for your house air (your lungs), it is also good for the environment because you aren't buying and throwing out all those plastic bottles of retail cleaner.

I keep a spray bottle of this under both bathroom sinks, and one in the kitchen as well.  I love spraying down my counters and sinks with this stuff and not feeling guilty about it.  And I'm certain I'm saving lots of money.  It really does clean well.

Mix together
1 tbsp of Borax powder (find it in the laundry aisle of your supermarket)
3 tbsps of white vinegar
2 cups of water
1 tablespoon of dish soap
1 drop of essential oil such as peppermint for fragrance (optional)

Pour it into a spray bottle you bought at the hardware store, give it a shake, and you are ready to clean.

Compliments of Toxicologist Gary Ginsberg via Dr. Oz.

I don't use it on my floors however.  For my wood floors I use just water and a little white vinegar.  For the tile floors I use a little  VO5 shampoo mixed with water.

Comment test.
I use borax and vinegar too. I also make an air freshener spray with lavender, lemon/orange peel, rosemary, or whatever from the garden. Boil w/lid to release oils, cool, strain, pour into bottle. I make my body spray this way as well. I'm compiling a booklet of toxins that we put on our skin, hair, teeth, etc. that we may not think about; I'll let you know when it's done.

I love these kinds of recipes. You always have something up your sleeve & you still use Vo5 from the tip at that one restaurant? That's cool & it must really work! COOL DEAL!

It happened again. I left a comment right after Susan. Oh well, here it is again. This sounds good and I would like Raven's booklet also.

Thanks Jill! I use a natural cleaner already , but I'm going to try this recipe as soon as my present one is used up. It would save money. I also like Raven's recipe!
