Garden and Babies update

Amy wrote something about Logan's garden on her own blog last week. I love it. Oh, and she titled it, "What a man!!!!"
So here it is in Amy's words:

"I just wanted to share with everyone how hard my husband Logan has been working on our garden. He works on it everyday. He has done so much research and has learned a great deal about growing vegetables and fruits. When he gets home from work in the morning (he works graveyard) he checks on his plants that he has planted in his peat pods, waters them and puts them outside for the day. He is trying to get them ready to plant. On his days off, he has been preparing the ground, building his planters, putting up fencing, etc. On Monday, he worked in the garden from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. He was turning the dirt, bought more dirt and dumped into the planters, planted his corn. I am so impressed with his hard work and dedication. I can't wait until our vegetables are ready to eat. I am so grateful for a wonderful husband who loves to provide for his family and make sure we are well taken care of. I am so blessed. I love you Logan! "As far as the babies go,
Amy had her Dr appt less than an hour ago. She is dilated to a 3 and has progressed a lot. Perhaps this has something to do with the 3 hours of contractions she felt last Sunday evening. And all her walking! Logan was with her at her appt today and he told Dr. Peters, "Can we get this show on the road? We don't want to go past 38 weeks."

So Amy is scheduled to be induced on April 16th at 3pm, the day before Logan turns 30. That will make the twins only 10 days early.

Of course we are all doubting very much the babies will wait that long. That's another 9 days from now! But Amy is happy to have an end in sight.

Thanks for the update on Amy. After seeing the video clip the other day, I can't imagine her being able to go another 9 days! She looks like she is ready to POP! Logan is quite the gardener. I'm sure he will have a great harvest since he is putting so much time and study into this. He looks like he is enjoying this gardening.

Ohhhhhhhhh 9 more days. If I were a betting person, which I am not, I would bet Amy has the babies before then. I am guessing the 10th!

Wow, doesn't reading that about your son make you feel like you were a successful mother?

We want to say "Amen" to all the previous comments. They expressed everything we were thinking. You have a family truly to be admired. We're so eager for the babies to come--and not just for Amy's sake. We want to see them, cuddle them, bite their little arms, nibble on their ears, and breathe in that incredible new baby smell that comes straight from heaven. Love, Dad and Susan

Logan, you are the coolest! I am so impressed. I'm willing to bet that most guys, when about to have twins, don't sit around and think, "Hey, you know what would be fun? A garden!"
I can't wait to see it grow!

There has been much more done to the garden. I'm finding that every little project related to the garden always takes more than twice as long as I project. Anyway, its been a great experience. Right now I look out there and see a lot of dirt. I look forward to the day when I look out there and see a ton of green.

Thank you for all your comments and encouragement.

Kelly, while I would like to take credit, Logan is very much like his Dad. A hard worker who will do whatever it takes to support his family. And Amy is so sweet and appreciative that Logan just wants to do more and more for her. His sense of humor though is bugging me this week. He calls today and says, "Oh sorry you missed it Mom, but Amy had the baby." I panicked for half a second then said, "Logan it is not baby, it's babies." So he says, "Oh yeah, I guess we need to go back and have the other one."

Rebecca, the 10th sounds like a good day to me!

I didn't know Logan was such a stud and a sweetheart. Way to go.

Good luck with the babies. I hope they don't have to induce labor. For some reason that makes me nervous. I like them to come on their own. But if she is already to a 3 it shouldn't be much longer. Hang in there Amy.

Hey, the 14th is Amanda's birthday, how about that day? I have two friends born on the 17th. Oh yeh, I guess it's not about me this time. L.O.L.

Kathy, what do you mean it's not about you? We're grandmas...it's always about us :)
Oh and now that you mention it, I do remember when Amanda was born!

Way to go Logan! I love to garden and still feel like such a novice. I'd love to hear more about your planning and preparation. Unfortunately, we can't plant around here until middle of May.

The end is in sight Amy!! Yeah!

Look what happened last night
