I found my Daytimer!!!!!

We put up flyers at the dentist office where I was sure I had dropped it. If you missed that post, go here.

Then one night,
It was about 11 pm. I was in the closet in our bedroom rubbing castor oil on the bottoms of my feet to make them softer. We have a chair in our closet by the way.

Den and I had both looked through our closet NUMEROUS times. We went shelf by shelf, all around the floor, everywhere we could think of in there. We were both completely and totally convinced it was no where in the closet, and no where in our house.

Well I should say, I was convinced. He still thought it would show up in our house.

Anyway, so there I am rubbing my feet, when I noticed our wire bin for 'clothes ready to be ironed' was pushed a few inches out of place. So I pushed it back into place. And there, look, it was right there on that shelf!!!
Right above our dirty clothes bin!

I kept looking at it...was I seeing things??
But we had looked everywhere in that closet so many times. And how in the world would it get there??

Then I remembered.
Whenever I go to the dentist I always wear black socks. So right after making my dental appt that morning, I went into the closet to change my socks to black ones, putting my Daytimer right on that shelf. I had intended to then put the Daytimer into my purse, but in my rush, I left that step out of my plan.

So when I found my Daytimer, I picked it up and just kept looking at it. I thought of all those nights I was worried that it was in the hands of someone else...when it was just yards from our bed!

Now I have all the 30+ years of information back that I thought was gone forever.

Plus now I know all the other private info is not in anybody's hands but mine.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I just love having it back home with me.
Where it was all along...

Black socks only to the dentist? We should have given you more turns on shirt day.

I am so glad you found it. Isn't it funny where you find things that are lost sometimes?

What is this about wearing black socks to the dentist?

I'm so relieved that you found it! "Murphy" must have hidden it under the bin. At least that is who we blame here at our house :-)
Can you send back the new one that you ordered or do you want to copy all of the information and keep it as a backup in a safe place in your house in case this happens again? I'm happy too that it was in your house and not out in the hands of someone else. You can sleep better now!

Hi Jill. Glad you got your "life" back. I just popped in to say thanks for the kind comment on my photo gallery. I sent the comment to Brett and Liz.

I have been thinking about you ever since I read the post where you lost your planner...I am so glad that you found it...about the black socks....?

Hooray! What a relief for you! And now, of course, you must do a post on the significance of wearing black socks to the dentist. Obviously, based on these comments, inquiring minds want to know...

I'm so happy that you found your daytimer, about as happy as I was when Amanda found her car that she thought was stolen. L.O.L.

Oh, Jill, I'm so happy for you! I was just thinking about that last night, everyone else in my house had gone up to bed and I was looking for something that my father-in-law had made for us years ago. I had been searching and searching, and I decided to try again last night, and it made me think of you searching for your day planner.
And I found my lost article too! (Right where I left it!) I'm saying prayers of Thanksgiving for us both!

OK Jill, you still haven't answered everyone's question about the black socks. We are all waiting with baited breath! Not really, but it WAS a curious thing to say, You are such an interesting person!

I would encourage you to take this opportunity to copy down the 30 yrs. worth of info somewhere else, just in case!!!
Have you called the Dentist to take down your flyers?

Oh sorry about the black socks...First of all, I always wear socks and shoes when I go to the dentist because it is so so cold in there. And while I love white socks, they don't match my pants very well. Of course at the dentist office socks show, once you get in that chair. And since I usually wear dark pants, black socks look better. I just feel less conspicuous that way. When I go to the dentist I always try to do WHATEVER makes me feel even a tiny little bit better.

And Erin, as far as copying my info in case I lose it again...Actually I was in the process of doing just that when it got lost. But I had BOTH copies in the Daytimer. So now I have taken one out and put it in safe keeping.

And about the flyers, we were fairly certain they were probably taken down the first or second day we put them up. We had 3 up, and I'm sure no one liked them there.
Den said he would go there today and check just in case.

I am so glad you found it! Funny how it was right there in your home. Now about the castor oil, does that really work on feet? Where do you buy it?

Grandma Honey said...

I have callouses on the bottoms of my feet, and yes, so far the castor oil is making them softer. I just buy it at the drug store.

YAY! I have thought a lot about that Day Timer hoping it would show up. I am glad it was at your house. And thanks for the castor oil tip...I have calluses too and I am going right away to get some castor oil...
We are going to be in Clovis for the 4th of July, I hope we will be able to come see you!

I should add, Amy, that while the castor oil makes the callouses softer, they are still there. I've only been doing it for a few weeks. I will be seeing a podiatrist soon so maybe there is something to actually get rid of them.
I use the castor oil on the arthritis in my neck is why I have it around. It really does work for arthritis. If I skip more than a few days, my neck starts hurting again. But I'm sure you are too young to have to worry about arthritis yet. :)
I am looking forward to your coming to town! That is the same weekend Tyler and Karen will be here also. If you have time, please do stop by.
