He doesn't take after his Grandma Honey

When McKenna sent me this picture of Grant today....

Of course I'm in awe. He's only 4 years old.

Speaking of adventures, coincidentally just last night
when I found these 2 pictures of myself:

At first, I thought my Mom must have labeled this wrong...

I thought I was 6 when I learn to ride a bike, not 8.

In fact I remember her even saying,
"All you kids learned to ride a bike about age 6."
(she probably didn't want to add, "except for you, Jill.")

Look at Grant in this short video....
he's 4...but so determined.
(this is the child's version of the one above...but looks like he is mastering both)

They needed me riding a bike by age 6 so I could get a paper route and chip in for the fancy dresses you required...

That is pretty impressive how Grant could (and wanted to) climb that wall!

No wonder you were older! Who would want to ride in a dress? It might get caught in the pedals or just get in the way when you're pedaling. I guess lots of people ride in dresses, but it seems like it would hamper your movement. I wore dresses to school as a kid, but changed into shorts or appropriately named "pedal-pushers" (remember those?) after school. But, come to think of it, we did everything in dresses on the playground as school, didn't we? Flipped around on bars, tall slides and swings, played dodge ball... that was just normal, huh?

Unlike you, I didn't change into other clothes after getting home from school...unless my Grandma was in charge that day, and then she would insist us girls put on "play clothes." But right, we were so use to doing everything in a dress back then.

I love getting to see the pictures of you when you were young! You look just like someone in these pictures and I can't put my finger on who! Such a fun post!

I didn't learn to ride a bike until I was 8. I remember being embarrassed because I was so old. I had to teach myself(I guess that's what happens when you are number 5)

I was also 8 years old when I first learned to ride a bike. I have to say though, you sure look like you were proud of your first bike! I don't think I ever tried to ride a bike in a dress, but then I was such a Tom-boy that I was always in pants. By the way, I love Richard's comment. Haven't read his sense of humor for a while. Thanks for sharing the clip of Grant. I hope that climbing wall wasn't too high. I was sure holding my breath for him.

Look what happened last night

Just a little pre-graduating gathering for our DIL Amy.... Not everyday a Mom of 7 and a Grandma of 7, graduates from college. It was not ...
