Now doesn't this look like a great after school snack?
Apples-peanut butter-caramel sauce-chocolate chips
We let our Primary Activity Girls (ages 8-11)
make them to their liking!
make them to their liking!
This normally very chatty group became
ever so quiet while they were eating.
Except for little voices saying,
"Oh this is SO good." and "I LOVE this!"
I later looked around the room and saw every plate empty.
I can't take credit for this idea.
It came from our creative assistant teacher
and she got it off Pinterest.
One of our girls is celiac so we make everything gluten free. And this works for that!
Pinterest shows it looking more like this:
But I like our girls' own style better.

What a darling idea.
That is a great idea! Might have to try that myself!
I bet your grand boys would like this!
I frequently gave my boys apples and peanut butter as a snack. The carmel sauce and chocolate chips would have been too much sugar for them. They would spin out of control.... though I'm sure they would have LOVED it!!

I understand. I personally could not handle this sugar, but as far as kids' treats go this actually has some nutrition in it. And hopefully the protein from the peanut butter stabilizes some of the sugar highs.
I love this idea for a snack!! I'm going to have to remember this in a couple of weeks when we are watching the grandkids for a few days. Thanks for sharing it!
