Our lunch is packed and we're on our way!

Finally we are on our way to Oregon to see our grandbabies,
thanks to my brother for taking care of our house!
It's been delayed because of the fires at Grant's Pass.
The smoke is still going, but not nearly as bad now.
We are so anxious to see our grandbabies, we will just make the best of it.

We have our car packed, and our lunch packed too.
Since we like lots of fresh things, I found these BPA free dishwasher safe containers by Ziploc.
Pictures taken on my lap while Den is driving.

Tuna sandwiches. Mine on gluten free bread, Den's on Dave's Killer bread.
He has pluots and champagne grapes.
I have pluots, tomatoes, and red onions.

I like to eat with a fork, so I've attached one.

And so we can keep our ice chest going hotel to hotel...
this time I put the ice in ziploc bags.

Then I can just transfer the bags of ice to our hotel freezer and reuse.
If we should need the ice for something on the road, well it's cleaner this way.

So that's that, and we are on our way.
And remember Richard, you don't have to feed the cat. She died a year ago June.
So don't be standing on the driveway calling her name. She's not coming.

That's hilarious about the cat!
Bon Voyage, my friends! And please keep us posted. We want all the details. (Since you, Jill, are so very good at that.)

I am so excited for you!

And I, for one, still expect to see the cat sitting on the curb waiting for me when I pull up to my parents' house, so I don't blame Richard if he calls for her out of habit. :)

Last paragraph: do I detect a note of SARCASM? See post from August 1.

There have been some awful fires, haven't there? I am in Palm Desert with my mom, and they've had a couple in the past few days that have filled the air with smoke.

I like your BPA free dish containers with the nicely prepared and cut up food with the attached fork. Pluots are a combination of plums and apricots I think. You really do prepare for everything!
