This one's for Mara...

So she can read it someday.
We got to drive to Visalia today for Mara's blessing.
She belongs to my niece Carly, her husband Enoch, and their 5 children.

Isn't Mara Ruth a little doll baby!

The blessing Enoch gave sweet little Mara Ruth was wonderful!
My favorite part went like this:
"I bless her with patience and understanding for the mistakes and foibles of her parents."
Proof what a good, and humble, father, this baby and her 5 siblings have.

We got to go into Primary after the blessing and listen to Hosanna's talk.
She told about how she said a prayer so her Mom would have Mara soon, and she did!
I wanted to get a picture of her family....you know, Carly and Enoch and the 6 kids....
but my camera has been fading away lately. But I did find this one taken at Family Camp last week:

Of all their kids, I think Mara looks most like Carly as a newborn.

Since Peggy still has her hospital bracelet on in the picture below,
I'm thinking Carly must have been about 1 or 2 days old, at most.
That's happy McKay (6 mo) right by Grandma.
This picture makes me miss my Mom all the more!

On another note,
Karen just put Leo's birth story on her blog if you are interested in reading it.

It's fun to see the generations and make the family connections in my mind. Your mother sure had a lot of babies to love over the years, didn't she?
I love that pic of McKay!

My Mom loved babies, Darlene. She was magical with them. She could put any baby happily to sleep by just wrapping them tight and rocking.

McKay looks like the happiest baby! He hasn't changed a bit :) Also Carly has the most beautiful family! I really hope we can make it in September so we can see them!
