Table Runners without sewing!

I actually made something today....besides food, I mean.

I saw this idea on a blog on making table runners using cloth napkins.
When I read it involved NO SEWING, and it only would take 15 minutes, I said I can handle this.

Table runners are much harder to find than cloth napkins.
So I was excited about finding some napkins I like, and seeing if I could make 4 into a table runner.

I found these at Target last night.

Then today, I followed the simple instructions on this blog, using stitch witchery and my iron,
and who would have thought....it worked!

I am so not a craft person or sewing person.
I would much rather admire what others make. Kim and Kris made me several beautiful table runners that I use nearly every single day.

Now I can envision myself finding old vintage cloth napkins at thrift stores
and making them into table runners. I know, shocking statement coming from me.

The only problem is I was so excited about this project, that I woke up at 5:30 this morning. (with me it's the little things)
Now it's only 8 and I feel bedtime coming on.
I use to get up early like this when my sons were small.
I would be so excited to see them that I would often wake up at 4am. Like a kid on Christmas morning.
That's what motherhood did to me.

I know, I know, I've forgotten most of the hard times. (my journals remind me)
I think I'm in the selective memory phase of life. A most wonderful place to be.

I love the table runner, such a beautiful color!

=)

PS. Very cute that you used to wake up so early wanting to see your boys. I have to admit that I did not do that. Don't get me wrong, I was excited to see them. But not till at least 6 AM. haha

Amazing! Why oh why didn't I think of this? Stitch Witchery (as well as duct tape, glue, and staplers!) has been my friend for decades as sewing is not my forte. I recently bought patriotic bandanas to use at our July 4th party. I wanted a table runner but had no creative idea how to make it work. Thanks to you, I will have a runner by next year's event. Thank you!

That's what motherhood did to me too. After I'd had a couple, I started really appreciating any time I could get alone with just one of them. So, I started looking forward to my babies waking up at night so we could have a little time together, uninterrupted. It was so sweet!

I was the same way Darlene. Some of my very dearest parenting memories were in the middle of the night.

This is a great idea! It looks easy enough for me to do since I'm not a 'crafty' person.

Look what happened last night

Just a little pre-graduating gathering for our DIL Amy.... Not everyday a Mom of 7 and a Grandma of 7, graduates from college. It was not ...
