My cousin, and Amber necklaces for teething!

I got to spend the afternoon with my cousin Kathy and her granddaughter, Eliza.
(while Kathy's daughter was heading up a homeschooling meeting in Clovis.)

I think they are both so beautiful.

Do you see the little necklace Eliza is wearing?
I had never heard of these before, but they are called Amber necklaces for teething.
It's not for her to chew on, but it acts as a natural pain relief and it seems to be working.

"According to Bouncy Baby Boutique, which sells Baltic Amber teething necklaces
it’s the succinic acid, a naturally occurring component in amber that makes it so effective.
“Succinic acid is a natural pain reliever, anti-inflammatory, and a central nervous system calmer.
It is so effective on babies and small children because it simultaneously eases their pain
while also having a strong soothing effect on their nervous system – all with zero side effects!”

Kathy said she has put one on these teething necklaces on her own ankle to help with her arthritis.
Interesting, huh?

Such a FUN visit we had!
We talked about our childhood summers together,
all our children of course, and our fathers, who are brothers.

Thanks Jill for your kind hospitality!
I had a wonderful time visiting with you and I ache for more family stories. Summer vacations and spring break visits spent at your house make up some of my sweetest memories. I love the old photos you posted and the way you keep our memories preserved for future generations through your writing!

Love the pic of the 4 cousins. I remember I used to love putting a good edge on that parking strip grass on our house on Madison...

Wonderful post. Love the pictures and the 'cousins' quote. Kathy looks young enough to be the baby's mamma. Did Richard push you down!?!

You've seen many pictures of my little Ollie with a teething necklace on. His mother swore it helped him, and he wore it nonstop for his first year, at least.
That picture of your dad looks like Jonas!

Now that you mentioned it Darlene, I do remember seeing Ollie with that necklace on! I read somewhere that Amber has helped teething for 1000 years. Crazy that I never heard of it.

What great pictures. Glad you could visit with Kathy. The things they have for babies these days. We just had to suffer with teething pain.
