Charity and Maturity

Both babies have left the hospital (Yay!) and
I hope to have some homecoming pictures soon.
Meanwhile....

I like what Gretchen Rubin (author of The Happiness Project)
has to say about maturity in relation to being scandalized.
I especially LOVE the quote she uses.

I never thought of it being a "pleasure" to be indignant and feeling outrage.
But come to think of it, the way Gretchen explains it, yes, it is....it can be.
Sometimes it feels good to get worked up about someone else,
especially when you have someone worked up with you.

But Flannery O'Connor's quote really puts me in my place.

"It is a sign of maturity not to be scandalized....
and to try to find explanations in charity."

Got to remember charity. It never faileth.

Man oh man...did I ever need to hear this?!!?! My step dad often told us to think, "does it even matter?" Most of the time it doesn't. If you think it matters, I think you are being scandalize. Such a good thought...THANK YOU!

Look what happened last night

Just a little pre-graduating gathering for our DIL Amy.... Not everyday a Mom of 7 and a Grandma of 7, graduates from college. It was not ...
