Thank you!

I really appreciate all of you who took the time to comment on my last post. Now we have a big list of ideas of to watch during dinner. We have decided to watch the first episode of each show, and then see which one will work best for us. If you think of anymore, please do let me know so I can put it on my list!

So thanks to all of you, this is what we get to choose from...(and many I have not even heard of before)

A Touch of Frost
Little House on the Prairie
Granite Flats
Waltons
Cheers
Magnum PI
Friday Night Lights  (Den already vetoed this one)
Veronica Mars
Tales of Avonlea
Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman
The Rifleman
Highway to Heaven  (this was Bill's favorite program ever so I've had my fill of it)
Rockford Files
Christy
Downton Abbey (I know SO many LOVE this one, so I don't know why we didn't.)
Rosemary and Thyme
Seinfeld (Even though the Romneys love this, I can still hear my Mom telling me it was not for us.)

This should be fun while we decide. Thank you again so very much!

Do you get ME Tv? We do not have cable so it is along with the major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) It has tons of wholesome, oldie programs -- Father Knows Best, Donna Reed Show, Dragnet, Adam-12, Bonanza, Big Valley, The Rifleman, Hawaii Five-0, Perry Mason, Dick VanDyke, M.A.S.H.,I Love Lucy, Bob Newhart, the list grows each month. pjc

The "Love Comes Softly" series based on the books written by Janette Oke. Filmed by Michael Landon, Jr. I know it's been on Hallmark Channel. I have eight dvd's. There may be more. pjc

I don't know why I didn't mention this before, but you might give Midsomer Murders a try. It's on Netflix and it's a series where every episode is an Agatha Christie style murder mystery. Karen and I used to watch it every chance we could get. In fact, we were watching an episode of Midsomer Murders the night Rich was born. We watched it and then went to the hospital. Each episode is about an hour and 45 minutes long. It's a very clean show, but it is British TV, so you have to be a little careful.

Oh, M*A*S*H is probably one of my most favorite shows of all time. But I have no idea where it would be available to watch (short of purchasing the first season/all seasons).
I really am interested to see what you guys pick to watch next.

Also, sometime pilot episodes are not that great. Sometimes it takes a few episodes for a show to hit its groove.

I watched the first two seasons of Bewitched on Hulu once. Every episode was the same. Terrible to watch all in a row.

I am surprised no one suggested The Cosby Show.

I know I used to always watch "Family Matters" and "Home Improvement" with McKay and Tyler on Friday Nights, but I have no idea how those shows have held up over time!

As a family, we used to watch Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Star Trek: Next Generation, and Early Edition.

I used to LOVE watching reruns of Dobie Gillis and The Munsters in black and white on TV on Saturdays. I bet I am the youngest person ever to know who Dobie Gillis and Maynard Krebs are.

I am wanting to go back and watch all the episodes of Gilligan's Island. I am sure, like Bewitched, they are pretty formulaic and much the same, but I'd still like to see at least a few of them.

(Can you tell I love Bob Denver?)

I always enjoyed Frasier, which they have on Netflix.

I looked at some of the stuff on Netflix, and now I want to watch: Columbo, The A Team, Murder She Wrote, and at least one episode of Knight Rider! Thanks for the inspiration!

I tried commenting the other day but my computer kept freezing...anyway. I just watched "Call the Midwife". It is set in England in the 50's. I love it. I think only there has been one season and that is the one on Netflix. I loved it. It made me so thankful for modern medicine and where I live and the time I live in.
