Is necessity the mother of invention?

Last month with Richie and his parents were here, we had 10 of his cousins over for dinner.
Then suddenly they all left just like that....and Richie was whimpering.
So look what he does about it....

I think we wore them all out but it was a priceless week...
These photos on the way to the airport weren't posed...they really were that tired.

I always have to remind myself, don't be sad it's over, be happy it happened.

We sure miss them all, especially this little guy,
because he's growing and changing everyday without us.

I have videos soon,
to show what's new with our other 2011 grandbabies, Violet and Grant.
(hey, I have to make a video every week or I'll forget how.)

Priceless post in every way. I think there's a lesson there in how fast a cry could change into curiosity so immediately! Lucky YOU GUYS! KEEP UP THE VIDEO POSTINGS!

What a sweet little boy. Wish he could have stayed longer so I could have seen him.

When my little ones started opening doors, I did NOT rejoice, because then they could escape the house or enter rooms they were not allowed in! Luckily, we didn't have those lever door handles back then. They are much too easy! What usually happened, though, is they were mature enough to be taught not to open the door around the same time that they could!
What a cute little guy Richie is!

The reason I felt safe rejoicing in his new skill, is I knew he would not be coming back to our house anytime soon. Otherwise, I think I would have latched it quickly, bolted it shut and distracted him. :)

(and we were safe because his parents don't have these handle openings like we do)

Having said all that, Dennis is on your side, Darlene. But what I really should have done was ask Richie's parents first....but it all happened so quickly and I was just so proud of him!

That is awesome! What a great video. Richie is such a doll and a smart little guy.
How sweet that he wanted to look for his cousins after they left.
I believe there is a magical cousin bond that happens automatically within families. It is such a cool thing!

impressive and scary at the same time! We had these latch type doors when we lived in Germany. My little son let a stranger in the house!!!!!! Crazy.
