Crockpot Pork and Apples

From the blog, Eat, Live, Run....
I tried her recipe for Crockpot Pork and Apples.
It doesn't get much easier than this.

I made it for dinner last night and it'll be a keeper.

Den mentioned that whenever his Mom use to make pork chops,
she would serve hominy to go with it.

So I just drained a can of hominy and put it in a frying pan
with a little butter and salt and it was quite good.
Why didn't I know about this nice little easy side dish before?

We quite liked dinner last night.

The pork looks delicious but I'll pass on the hominy. I never have cared for that.

Just wrote that one down. And we always ate hominy in our home. I love it!

This looks great. I am going to try it this week.
So no water or liquid added? It seems like it would not
cook or be dry?

I wondered the same thing Rebecca but it actually got lots of moisture from the apples and onions as they started breaking down in the heat. Also there was some fat on the pork chops I think. Please let me know if you try it.

Oh and I did smoosh everything down into the liquid about half way through cooking so there wouldn't be any meat drying out on top.

Does 3 sliced apples me 3 slices or 3 WHOLE apples sliced. That looked ridiculously easy for the raves you two gave it. I'll have to try it but i think the last time I saw a pork chop I was 9 years old. LOL. Never ever made 'em for my family. Maybe 2013 is all about NEWness, huh? Thanks again for a great post!
