Look what I did to my closet

I won't even show a before picture because it looked like chaos.
Plus I forgot to take one anyway.
For years and years this was our kids' linen closet.
Then they all left home and it's become our guest/kids visiting/storage closet.

I struggled with this closet for 22 years.
And then last week I saw one blog post that changed it all for me.
Scroll down when you get there, for her inspiring picture.

Now I'll show you some of the detail.
The little containers on wheels on the floor
are actually child's lego containers that I found at Target.

I just turned them around as you can see.
and put a label on them.

I used the ends of the shelves to store things like our foot soaker.
Never know when we might need that.

Likewise, I used the other end of the shelf for larger bottles that need to stand upright.

This idea I got from my sister, Robin.
It's a  jar is filled with little shampoos, lotions, etc that we bring home from hotel visits.
I also put in miniature tubes of toothpaste and toothbrushes from our dental cleanings.
Just in case our visiting family/friends have forgotten something.

I'm not showing the grandkids what's inside the band-aid drawer,
or we will suddenly be having lots of accidents.

I had never thought of using those little pull out drawers in a closet.
They are little wonders to me now!
I found them at Target. Of course.

So yes, if you haven't done so yet, be sure and check out the blog I got this idea from.

Jill...I am so impressed with your closets!!! They look great and so do the ones from the blog that you got the idea from. Hey...do you want to come here and do my closets? :-))) Also, how about an update on how your father is doing?

Oh my goodness! I love this. I am going to do this with my closet! Where did you get that little hanging thing the washcloths are on?

I can't believe how organized that is! I've NEVER had a closet that neat and tidy. It looks excellent! (Makes me want to go clean my closet.)

That looks different. But I don't remember it being terribly chaotic when we last visited. In fact, I remember thinking the linen closet looked good and pretty organized.

Anyway, this is the part where Karen chimes in and says to me, "I see where you got your tidiness from."

Tyler~ I WISH I had tidiness like you! That was nice of Karen to say that, but truly this is the only closet that looks like this.

Darlene~ I've never had a closet that looks like this either. :)

Rebecca~ I've had that washcloth hanger for years and years, so I don't remember where I got it. I'm sure some place like Bed Bath and Beyond would have something like this, maybe even Target. It does help the washcloths from toppling over.

grandmapeg~ My Dad and Susan have had a very rough week but I think he's starting to get better. And that's closet, not closets. ha!

Jill, I think the closet looks beautiful! I wish I were that tidy. Being married to Tyler has helped me be tidier, but I have LOTS of room to improve.

And I have to agree with Tyler. I don't think I ever once opened your linen closet and thought it messy.

I hope our kids get your tidiness gene.

Look what happened last night
