I've done this before!

I really thought I was the only parent who had tried this!
And I was even pregnant at the time.

I have to also say that the crying part in this video is hard for me to watch.
I know babies cry, but I still don't like it.

That dad needs BABY WISE and that child needs to be sleep trained! I simply cannot imagine!

This was so funny! I loved the music that went with it. It was funny that every time he moved, she climbed higher onto him and in the end had to take her out of the crib. Logan did this for the first time about two weeks ago. But the twins weren't crying. Téa asked him to sleep with her and so he climbed in. Then Jonas asked me, so I climbed in and laid with him. It was interesting to see there view from inside their crib.

Lynn~ Most likely this Dad only tried it this once since obviously it doesn't work. Then again, I wonder if he just did it for Youtube?

I tried it once with McKay. This was before we got his heart fixed and we had to be careful he didn't cry or he'd end up at ER again. I remember I was alone that evening and going through morning sickness. I was desperate in other words. :)

This just shows that babies need their parents presence. There is nothing wrong with sleeping with your baby. Our culture has somehow bought into the idea that babies need to be "managed" and "controlled" instead of loved and comforted. What we call "attachment parenting" is what most other countries call parenting. :) Not trying to start a debate but since someone already brought up baby wise, I just had to advocate for the other side of the coin!

I agree with anonymous! Babies need to know that they are loved and will be comforted by their parents. I think it gives them so much security, reassuarnce and self -esteem :)

I had to laugh because what parent (or grandparent) hasn't been in this situation before. Probably not in a crib but laying down with a baby to try to get them to go to sleep. I really liked the music that went along with this clip :-)

The ideas in BABY WISE do not preclude loving and comforting babies. I know personally of one new mommy, exhausted from sleep deprivation, who attempted co-sleeping. She didn't realize she was suffocating her baby until it was too late. She wishes she could have a do-over. Babies are safer in their own beds.
